TV interference
Just changed caravan and back from our first trip with the new van. All good apart from tv reception issues especially when mobile phones were in use or even just switched on. Same tv as before and tried new co- ax cables. TV tuned in ok, over 200 freeview channels found, worked fine with phones off, and works fine at home even when using phones. Any ideas?

It's not the phones as you proved by your trial at home. I don't even think it's possible for phones to cause interference but someone else will no doubt confirm.
It'll be something in the van's wiring - aerial, booster, cables, mains - or something peculiar to that individual location.

Sometimes high pressure weather systems can detrimentally effect TV signals. Presently we have a large high pressure system over the whole of the UK.

Sometimes it can be a combination of several factors. Omnidirectional aerials are notoriously poor outside strong signal areas where they appear good but take them elsewhere and a coat hanger will possibly perform better. We had one, just walking around the van had a detrimental effect.

Some phone and TV frequencies are now very close and you can get interference from phone transmitters.
loads of good information available from the link below.
You can get a free filter that solves the issue., see https://at800.tv/faq/can-get-filter/
There are a number of factors, the transmitter, your geographical location, your antenna type, the caravan wiring.
Caravan manufacturers dont seem to understand the principles of RF cables and shielding and tend to use low quality coax cables, all contributes to stray signal causing reception issues.

It's not just the south coast as mentioned in that article, micky. We regularly have problems at home when there's high pressure. Our main TV is OK because that goes through an amplifier but all the others, that aren't fed through that amplifier. loose the BBC channels as soon as we get high pressure. As soon as the pressure drops, they're OK again.
We're currently at the NYM site outside Whitby and whereas the TV signal has been fine in the past, it's been diabolical this week. OK one minute and then disappearing completely and that's using an Avtex TV, amplifier and Status directional aerial.

We are currently finding the same re the high pressure, particularly with BBC one. Back in June on one remote site everything was breaking up. Overnight the high pressure was moved aside and the signal was then fine. Weather wasn’t though.☹️
