And, although I know many will not agree, what a difference it made to have fans in the ground again. 🙂⚽️🙂

It did there was a blow by blow volume account of the game, you don’t realise how the atmosphere is affected until it’s not there🤷🏻‍♂️

Just watched a Morgan Freeman film on Netflix. My other half came in towards the end, all excited as we had won. I had to ask her who we played.

Well, well done England, a great performance. An England- Italy Final is looking increasingly likely, imo. I fear Italy might have enough defensively to see us off. I hope I’m wrong...

Still, a reason to be hopeful, it’s coming home 🙂

Well done England! A really good and emphatic performance!!

There's a possibility of meeting Italy in the final and no one will beat the cheating, deceitful Azzuri. They epitomise everything bad about the game and one of the reasons I switched off to football. I'm referring to the bloke rolling around in the penalty box, feigning injury and as a goal went in, he quickly looked round to see if the ref was watching him, then jumped up and ran over to celebrate the goal.

Messers Lineker and Shearer laughed at his antics after being captured on camera but it sickened me to see it.

Really great to see England get their win however, Ukraine were missing their best player, Ticli Chestikov, due to illness.

“Cry Harry(s), for England and St George”👏👏👏

Huge confidence booster late in the tournament. Denmark won’t be a push over though. I am really pleased for Gareth Southgate, he was always a good Middlesbrough Manager, and now doing a great job with England’s latest. Fingers crossed they can get into the Final.......at Wembley🥳

Yes, good to see Gareth Southgate doing so well. Also great to be enjoying this with an English manager at the helm. It was a national disgrace that for years we couldn’t find anybody good enough from our own ranks to manage the national team - some didnt even speak English, unbelievable!

Great win hope we can go all the way, just not happy that we are going to allow 2k+ UEFA officials into the country for the final without making them self isolate and i thought it very bad that Italy were shouting that they would host the final if the UK did not want it, how hipocritical after they banned English supporters from yesterdays game unless they self isolated for 5 days .

Liked headlines today Injection of freedom that will make Britain the envy of all Europe, I think we already are, just hope for England v Italy Final and we sock it to them laughing

Well earned win too👍🏻. I thought the crowd(Danes too) were in fine voice👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻. Hopefully Southgate will put the missed penalty from his playing days to bed now & forgive himself-he deserves it.

An element of luck, I feel (the penalty), but we were due some. That said, I thought we put on a good performance and overall, a deserved win. I just hope (🤞) we play the final with a bit of confidence and flair, don’t be afraid. Come on England!

probably deserved the win overall....just....so well done to the team and Gareth Southgate...

but its pretty obvious what the two most important training routines are...

falling over and taking free kicks.

i dont weigh much, never have, and used to get the s*** kicked out of me in my playing days, but one thing for sure was that i stayed on my feet, because if you didnt, the oppos had the ball...

no ref ever gave a free kick for the light touch our players seem to be poleaxed by...

these days, im afraid its the opposite...if theres the remotest chance that someone else actually touched you, let those knees buckle (Harry Kane) or do your best Tom Daley (Sterling)...or all of the above, Jack Grealish.

...and so Jack was the player who fell over the most in the last two Premier League seasons....he looked in good form last night, literally covered every blade of Wembley (with his postrate form) and not a hair out of place.

i love it when England do well but is this the way we want to play football?...

I suggest Gareth has a good look at the Italy/Spain semi and try and understand what 'the beautiful game' is all about...

He might notice the Italians are masters of the art of falling over and dying in agony! Yes it was a soft penalty, nevertheles VAR agreed it was a foul. It hasn't always gone Englands way. May the luck continue.

As somebody who doesn’t usually watch footie, I was taken by the degree of physical contact. Obviously within the rules I assume, but seemed more like Rugby than Football at times, especially the set pieces when they’re all shoving and climbing over each other. Good to see them win tho’.

I think "we" may have got carried away with that very easy win against a tired and less gifted opposition in Ukraine in the previous round! surprised

This was a workmanlike performance and a (just about) deserved win. But then Italy, who have been superb throughout the tournament, also looked below par and workmanlike against Spain.

The "soft penalty" may yet come back to haunt England if a similar situation arises in the final.

Fingers crossed for a bright, attacking and captivating match, but I suspect it will be a pretty dour affair, maybe decided on just a single goal.

Just to take things slightly off topic, though still relevant, is anyone else bemused by the amount of coverage this gets on the national news? I mean the first 15 minutes of yesterday's lunchtime BBC news was solely about this semifinal - no lockdown news then, ltitle mention of PMQs, etc. Is football really that important? undecided

Well it makes a change Moulesy. Just a release from other things? I hear the Italians have a propensity for drama so I think we're in for an entertaining evening.

I hope we win. Our opposite neighbour will then take his flashing football lights down!! wink

Good point, if you look really close you’ll see they(Italy) are willing to dive if an opposing player gets even close. I’m a big fan of VAR it helps to stop the awarding of oscars👍🏻

+1 Brue👍🏻. We are way too good at underselling our National side. The other home nations love their teams, us?, not so much. If we win-we’re lucky or the other side was a pushover, if we lose-it the same old same old☹️🤷🏻‍♂️

I don't think I said we were lucky, Rocky, but if we were then maybe it's about time we did have a little bit of the rub of the green. And I certainly wasn't trying to undersell what the squad have achieved. Having spent a lifetime supporting a rarely successful football team I'm more than willing to "big them up"!  👍

I never made a direct quote btw👍🏻. You didn’t undersell, really?-‘we may have got carried away with that very easy win against tired & less gifted opposition’, that’s underselling 101 right there. ‘This was a workmanlike performance’ another one. Followed by glowing praise of Italy-‘superb throughout’. I’ll not go further but could really do just that. FYI my post was not against you per se but generally. Since you owned it I’m happy to respond👍🏻😊

Really? Not underselling,  Rocky, just a healthy dose of realism from someone who has spent many hundreds of hours watching "workmanlike" performances from my own team! wink

I think, in this tournament, "we" have been efficient and rather unexciting, but that is clearly Gareth's preferred style and very successful it has been too! But I don't think we can be considered as quick thinking and stylish as other teams, Italy in particular.

But, don't get me wrong, I'm 100% supporting them and a drab 1-0 victory will do me just fine!  👍

I’m a firm believer in-‘winning isn’t everything. . .It’s the only thing’. We need to go all the way on this one, I don’t care how they do it as long as we win. I’m sick of hearing about 1966, it needs besting, the way folk bang on about a 55yr old cup is embarrassing👍🏻

whats really wierd is that you can be touched with a feather in the middle of the park and, if you cant keep your balance (inevitible), you'll get a free kick.

have ten minutes WWF wrestling in the penalty area (defenders and attackers) and the ref blows up, has a 'stern word' with both parties, then lets them get back to it....

when was the last time a ref gave two or three penalties for such behaviour?

if you want it stamped out, then like speeding on sitewink, you need to hang a few out to dry....

i agree with Peedee that the Italians are past masters but the game v Spain was far, far more than this one tactic.

i think the final has potential to be a really good game, but hopefully not one of Last Man Standing.

    embarrassing?

having been lucky enough to be invited to the 50th Anniversary celebrations at Wembley Stadium, I certainly wasnt embarrassed at meeting and dining with some of the survivors...to be chatting to Jack, Gordon and George (the three staying at our hotel) was a privilege and humbling.

and later, over dinner, listening to Sir Geoff reminisce about the day and the other heroes in the team was a delight and, being old enough to have 'been there' in front of the TV on July 30th 50 years earlier was totally absorbing..

and BTW, these guys actually won the World Cup, not 'the Euros'...how will a win on Sunday 'best' that?

Sir Geoff signed a golden football for my wife and Gordon signed a golden goalkeeping jersey and glove...

.....i watched some of the 1966 England v Portugal semi final last night....dont recall anyone falling over....undecided

It will best it by giving us something & some players who are actually still with us & from the 21st century. With due respect BB I’m not interested in your lifelong hero worship at all. I’m focussing on the OP-Euros, I’m happy you are comfortable in the past but it’s time to move on. In 1966 it was a dream I don’t doubt. 76, 86, 96 even but not 56yrs later🤷🏻‍♂️. I dare say your seat at the bottom of the top table cost you a lot but if you got to breathe the air of your hero’s & sit at the feet of one of them I’m happy for you. For me it’s time for new hero’s👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻
