Caravans and motorhomes with offside door

'Mr Grumble', very apt name.
It matters not to me which way my neighbours pitch, in or out, door wherever. I did not come to a caravan site for privacy and although we are out for most of the day, whenever we are outside sitting (weather permitting) will chat if the opportunity arises. Sometimes it's brief throughout the stay, sometimes it's more than that and sometimes not at all.
I certainly don't go away to be worked up by others, but do admit that 'overthere' I prefer side on with the canopy towards the front, but neighbours have no bearing on that decision. More to do with sitting in a chair munching on something with a glass in my hand, and watching the world go by.

allan, weve had both....a very large pitch in France with a hedge, in fact, on three sides.....so very private and very large...
the site last week, as in my earlier photo, uses hedges to break up a large site into smaller, more intimate (yet more well spaced) areas.
this then lends itself to more flexible pitching and the removal of the issue being discussed.
although there were no pegs, the pitches were far enough apart so that the necessary fire breaks were maintained just by the fact that you were (somewhere) on the HS area.
yes, less Club pitches will reduce availability and will probably put the price up, but the site we were on seemed to manage this at a comparable price to the Club site up the road....and include free wifi, a swimming pool, a bar, a restaurant and a fully manned reception, ANPR entry/exit, online checkins, etc etc...
i know not all folk what all these things but im just illustrating it can be done yet still price match the nearby Club site.

The whole idea of privacy on a typical Club site is a joke. I always knew my right hand door would upset people on that sort of site so we went elsewhere. How lucky you all are. Be thankful.

It certainly would no trouble me in the least euro T. I was on site at Woolacombe 5 years ago with the back of the van facing toilet blocks below. A caravan same make as yours pulled up and the couple started to manhandle it to place it nose in. I commented that I was sorry no to be able to help. He said that they were only doing it for my privacy and rarely sat in the caravan on site. I said not to trouble for my benefit. So they stayed facing forwards; not a problem

The inflatable ‘corral’ seems to be the latest method of hiding oneself from the rest of the world.

Pitching to the peg arrangements, pitch spacing, pitch sizes, pitch prices, privacy, noise, other people, pets, children, windbreak and awning rules, arrival and departure times, inability to book individual pitches or surface type, speeding on site, too many signs, too few signs, closed for cleaning, flags and fairy lights, grumpy wardens (supposedly), too few wardens. Just a selection of moans about the club and sites that spring to mind. I'm sure there are more.
This club will never make a go of things or entice people to stay😕. What's that you say, sites are full and you can't book a pitch? Well I never, I guess the club must have got something right after all🤷♂️😀🤣.

Guy rope rage?
have I missed out on a new rage to be outraged about?

String lights on your awning... rage or no rage?
There seems to be a lot of things that upset people. Is there a definitive list?

TW made reasonable fist of it.....
im sure there are more but perhaps keep this thread to offside doors....or....?

Perhaps the FA should design club sites. They seem to know all about the offside rule.

They’re there, JV. You didn’t read it fully🙂

…..we could talk about kit, clobber and big cars🤷🏻♂️

or rate of water consumption?

You know how it is, it starts with an offside door, and before you know it, its the slippery slope to solar light pitching anarchy.

If my list was that long I'd save my £54

...you might.....however, im sure he'll renew, next year

So would I.
I'm not sure who 'he' is though.🤷🏻♂️

So glad I've read this thread in time for our holiday first week of school holidays at Gowerton, saves me making a list.
Continental caravan, tick
Air windbreak, tick
Child, tick
Illuminated flagpole, tick
LED light string to go round pitch, solar on at dusk off at dawn, tick
Bikes, 1 electric, tick
Portable projector to watch films against caravan wall, tick
Bluetooth boom box to listen to crash, bang, wallop movies, tick
Thinking of getting a new electric coolbox to place outside and create ice and noise overnight.
Happy holidays

'he' who wrote the list, of course....go on, have a guess

"so would i"
there you are, wasnt that difficult, was it?

I think you missed the point in your eagerness to jump in. It wasn't a list of my complaints. Truly, I think you'll find it’s more yours than mine so will you be rejoining next year?
2 -
It wasn't TW's list at all, if that's what your are trying to suggest. TW merely put together all the things that certain people complain about on here.
But then 'they' still keep on using club sites. A prime example of my new second law of CT.

It’s surely one of the great mysteries of the universe why people continue to use and pay for something when they find so much worthy of complaint. Even those who are very vocal in telling us how much better other offerings are still use CAMC sites. Yep, a mystery🤷🏻♂️🤯

The difference is that there's no need to pay the likes of McDonald's a £54 retainer on the off chance that you might want to make do and use them at some point.
