Grass cutting on CC sites

I'm probably alone in this view but I'm afraid I find the constant grass cutting on most CC sites to be quite intrusive. I appreciate the sites need to be kept tidy but once a day seems overkill to me, especially with the racket emitted by the machinery
favoured by the Club.

Most years we spend 3 weeks or so in France and I can hardly remember ever seeing anybody cutting the grass at all there - yet most sites, even the municipals, look reasonably well kept.

I'd be interested in other views, especially whether it might be possible to have parts of some sites left in a "wilder" condition.

This view probably gfoes along with our preference for grass pitches rather than hard standing. Maybe we're still tent campers at heart!

We have just returned from a site that we’re using petrol strimmers all day on the wettest day of the week. We also watched on the hottest day a sit on mower take 30 minutes to cut a vacant space, it would take me 10 minutes with a hand mower.

I know the sites have got to be kept tidy, but please think about your paying customers.

The OP is over 9 years old, and CP's follow up post today the only response.....Is this a record?

The sooner the Club converts all the grass pitches to Astro Turf the better! 😎

Ah the little orange tractors never ending and relentless war with grass!

Maybe the club should tarmac over the sites in green tarmac?

I see nothing wrong with grass that hasn’t been relentlessly shorn into an huge bowling green.

Is the website served by a dial up modem?
