And probably wouldn't use club sites even if the changes happened.

Arrivals after 8pm should be accommodated, subject to charging and remuneration structure similar to this.
8pm tp 10pm - £50 charge. £5 do be deducted from site fee of each ajoining pitch.
10pm to Midnight - £100 charge. £10 (or perhaps a bit more) to be deducted each side.
Perhaps stop there?

I’d happily pay punitively 50 quid, but seems unnecessary. Assuming the average site holds 50 caravans and the average stay is 3 nights and 2 wardens are required at 20 pound per hour each. That’s < 20 pence extra per booking per night for one night with extended hour.
Most hotels i’ve ever been to only have one member of staff at night. Most sites only have one warden manning the desk (if any) unless they run a shop.1 -
Does no one think the OP is being far too ambitious in expecting to travel 150 miles just for a weekend? The OP says he finishes work at 5.00pm so by the time he is ready to leave it will probably be 6.00pm. You would be very lucky to average 50mph, more likely to be nearer 40mph in you factor in possible stops and traffic en route. So this would mean arrival on site at 10.00pm just at the time when many might be settling down for the night and setting up could probably be another hour if a awning was involved. Would this be fair on the people around the OP on site? Personally I think the current arrangements are fine with the proviso for a slightly later arrival if someone runs into unexpected difficulties, but of course keeps the site informed.

So change the club for the few who claim not to use club sites rather than 'listen' to the the majority who do use them and keep coming back for more? And that of course is the proof, the strong renewal rate quoted in the AGM minutes.
It is not expected at all. If I don't like a particular product anywhere I simply don't buy it and/or go somewhere. If I want to join a club or society I look at what is being offered then accept or not. What I do not do is buy/join then post on that product's website that they should change their ways to suit me or complain about the services offered while not using them.
You have posted quite a bit about wanting change (metering, deposits, now key barriers) and doing mini surveys about late cancellations, reading, or rather urging people to read, AGM minutes, posting letters from marketing people … yet you claim to be not bothered about using club sites and claim not to use them often. Your right but it does leave me puzzled.

Hi, But the situation is one you have chosen to put yourself in.
Based on the info you have given your choice appears ambitious at best and very likely to lead to repeated disappointments.
Maybe try something a little closer to home for those trips when you are restricted as you have described?

I suggested the same. Travel a lesser distance. When we worked we did as you quote and travelled 60 miles for weekends away. Sometimes it took 2 hours but sometimes closer to 1 and it was manageable and didn't get us into the stressed state that you seem to achieve.
You seem unwilling to compromise but want everyone to accommodate your requirements when the remedy is in your own hands. Give and take, bend to fit the system. The world isn't all about you.

The world isn't all about me, nor you (which unsuprisingly this doesn't affect because you don't work). I question the policy, you provide your opinion, I'm fine you disagree.
It seems at least a handful of people are like minded, so the question is of merit.
I'm perfectly flexible and work within the current system, are you? I've also made it clear I would not want the policy to change for me - only for the wider benefit of families and working individuals who like to travel further than 60 miles at the weekend.

Undoubtedly it is my problem inasmuch as I happily choose to caravan with the caravan club and will continue to do so. I guess my unanswered question is '8 pm late'? The best answer I've heard is that noise is an issue, and this would deter people from a policy change (though 8pm still seems an early watershed for this, I understand the objection). The worst answer is that it would be impossible to foresee staff working after 8 pm - which in other industries is common practise.
As for options, I've done both short trips and long.
To give an example, leaving the driveway at about 5 assuming some leniency from work after collecting the kids from School ~100 miles from experience is possible. For other people with stricter working rules, 100 miles would be ambitious at best.

You don’t say where you live. According to the App we have 16 CAMC sites within that radius. Several of them within 30 / 40. I know everyone isn’t as lucky and that in some areas sites are thin on the ground. However, there are plenty of alternatives. Apart from anything else towing 150 miles for a weekend doesn’t do much for your carbon footprint.

That's a good range. It might be just me, but I prefer to travel to places to stay overnight that I couldn't just visit by car then drive home again.

You'll probably like me even less, but this is not something I particular care about. Moving a heavy mass a long distance without a nuclear power station attached is not going to be carbon friendly in the UK.

Totally agree but there are things we can do to minimise the impact. For instance taking my time getting to a site when towing returned significantly better Mpg than rushing.
