    I follow a YT Spain Speaks run by an Australian resident in the Madrid region.He keeps updated on the situation and,as Peedee says,it is not good.Confusion reigns as the Autonomos seem to be going their own way in many respects.This morning we met up with our son and his Spanish OH and she confirms this.The Elections are ,apparently,not helping matters as the politicians are,as ever,point scoring around the Covid issues.Poly = Many Ticks= Blood suckers😷Her Aunties back in Madrid keep her up to date with the "goings on" and she is growing rather angry about it all.

    Just as well that they are both residents of Yorkshire,really.Not too bad in the UK,all things considered.👍

    The Public Health Commission has delayed a decision on what to do with the essential workers who received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine before it was restricted to the 60-69 age group

    The group affected is made up of essential workers who began receiving the vaccine from February 9 onward. Around a million of them had got their first shot when the Health Ministry took the first decision to suspend the use of the vaccine on March 15.     This left the remaining essential workers without their first shot, and those who had been vaccinated with the first dose in the dark about what would happen next. The ministry stated that it would study the situation to decide whether to administer another AstraZeneca shot, use a different vaccine or simply skip the second injection altogether"

    does not fill you with confidence, quite a few of the local towns within the Andulicia region are now back in lock down, and travel is severly restricted.

    We have a family cottage in Santa Barbara, Loja our nearest town is in lockdown and my daughters second vaccination has been cxld and no new date given, got a lot to thank BJ for undecided

    Yes, 127,000 dead. He had nothing to do with the vaccine rollout which was NHS.

    Agree the NHS rollout of the HMG ordered early enough vaccines , the add money given to the NHS to enable the roll out to be so successful

    Apart from Madrid and the Basque regions  the rest of Spain is doing really well and from next Monday the state of Alarm is being lifted so we can now travel across borders into other regions whoopee.

    The Valencian region were we live are in over drive with the vaccination programme with large vaccination centres opening all day and expects to get everyone over 50 vaccinated by the end of May my wife had hers yesterday and next one in three weeks my first jab should be in two weeks and being 66  the last category to be done.

    The newspaper report Rufs mentioned is to do with all those that had their first dose of AS before the blood clots scare which Spain then switched from these people to older age groups a friend of mine aged 69 had AS two weeks ago, the problem is they are now running trials to see if they can give a different vaccine as a second dose.as Spain will not be purchasing any more AS.

    youve only got to check Worldometer to see the trends in each country...

    Spain really improving, almost where we were a few weeks ago, Portugal has minimal cases and nearly zero deaths...even France has seen their high levels of infection fall in the past fortnight along with deaths.

    Italy has battled back against their third wave and looks to be regaining some control...
