Whilst difficult to gauge a price perhaps a ballpark figure of £3 - £4 based on the add on price for a child. Last year we were given a £3 per night discount at a commercial site because their facilities were closed. So it can be done.
As for the price list supplement I asked in early January and was put on a waiting list. Thinking they'd forgotten I again enquired in February. I was told they could see I was on the list but the price lists would be sent out when the club received them. How long does it take? It'll soon be Xmas

People utilise or not the facilities in their vans, for a variety of reasons. Indeed, onboard facilities can vary, both in size and quality, so under normal circumstances I can quite see why some do, and some don’t use onboard.
Not normal circumstances though, far from it. Govt advice cant cherry pick individual holiday providers, (that place open, that place not etc...) so it has to be general guidance, like much of what we have endured this last year. Hopefully it won’t be for long, and others who do experience difficulty with onboard facilities can then have a holiday. Let’s keep fingers crossed that all does go as well as expected this time around🤞

I had an Email from Grant Shapps yesterday, asking if there is anything he can assist with that may be affecting us at this time both nationaly and locally? (local May elections?)
I have replied asking if he will bring it up in cabinet? before sites open in April if there can be some consistancy as to the opening of facilities on sites that have them as it was working after last years lockdown ,and with the cleaning regimes in place ,were much safer to use than what has been agreed to open so far

As far as I can see the reasons for not opening facilities blocks and other such indoor areas are fairly simple.
Last summer the then prevalent variant struggled to transmit in the warm, fresh, dry air and the numbers tumbled. Once the latter part of autumn came and we moved into winter the more transmissible Kent variant thrived in the warm, moist air in enclosed spaces and was able to spread quickly and easily. Remember how well it did on just one day at Xmas.
Even now fleetingly passing a person in the street you are very unlikely to infect or be infected. Now move into a nice warm moist facility where you may be in contact with the aerosol born virus or the nice damp surfaces on which it has settled and stay there for prolonged periods the chance of being infected by the very transmissible current variant rises considerable.
We have adequate facilities in our MH and will use them rather than risk those on site until the scientists and HMG say otherwise. However, as an ex tugger I do feel for those who have to fill containers every day whereas with our large on board tanks we can last much longer.

He's responsible for transport isn't he? Maybe you could ask him to persuade Boris to save the billions he wants to invest on the bonkers idea of a bridge/tunnel across the Irish Sea and use the money saved to give front line NHS staff the sort of pay rise they deserve!

He’s the perfect person to contact about such a dilemma. Just check which persona he is using first though........🤔
To paraphrase.....”I love the smell of [elections] in the morning”😂

One could similarly ask why people who “pay a fortune” for these facilities in their outfit do not stay exclusively on non-facility sites?
A&J if you are talking about CAMC non facility sites then the answer is easy. They keep closing them and don't bother replacing them plus they are few and far between. Happy to use them when they are available in the area I want to visit.
However, I am happy to continue to use the CL sites with or without such facilities. Many of us do.
Last year I used 1 CAMC site and 1 Independent and used our own facilities.
In a normal year I would say each to their own but in the case of reducing possible transmission of this virus then using one's own facilities is not a hardship if only until we return to some form of normality.

Yes, I posted on the thread 'When can we use our Vehicles' on 2nd March highlighting the inconsistencies....
I'm happy using onboard facilities, however using shower blocks does save the need to visit MSP to refill & offload waste water during a stay.
It is funny that at the start of this COVID pandemic we were told that Coronaviruses don't like 'soap & water' & I was therefore happy to use shower block facilities on site with their 'reduced' usage capacity.....
Now, that doesn't seem to apply

Just received this from one of our booked sites.
Greetings from REDACTED.
As you are probably aware, the government have recently announced their COVID-19 ‘roadmap’ which gives us a provisional opening date of 12th April 2021. Although we’re able to welcome campers from this date, sadly we won’t be able to open any shared facilities (showers, toilets, washing-up areas, etc.) until at least 17th May Again, this is only a provisional date as set out in the roadmap.
Because you’re booked to stay with us during this period, we are reaching out to enquire as to whether you have your own facilities and can self-contain in your unit. If this is the case and you are still happy to visit us for your current dates, please respond to this email or call our office on the number below to let us know you're still coming.
If you do not have your own facilities, we will instead look to move your booking to another date after 17th May when (government permitting) our facilities will re-open. To get your booking moved, again please respond to this email or call our office on the number below.
Please note:
We are already extremely busy for the May half term and school summer holidays so if you need to move your booking, it is unlikely we’ll be able to accommodate you during these periods. If you aren’t able to visit us during term-time, we can instead move your booking to our 2022 season.
We look forward to hearing from you soon.
Kind regards
Personal, helpful and pleasant.

I'm probably on my own here but my ideal site would be one with no facilities but with fully serviced pitches. Why doesn't the club have any? they would be much cheaper to build and run. One alternative is to make use of facility blocks chargeable in the same way that having a water supply and a drain on pitches is chargeable. Not that it will ever happen of course.

Ernie There are quite a few CLs that do exactly that. I don't know if you use CLs at all but we have stayed on a few, some excellent, some not taking the word "fully" to its maxim.
Might be worth checking out the "Sticky" under the CL section of this forum for Serviced pitches CLs. Just make sure they are H/S if that is a requirement.

Yes got similar from site we will be visiting, only differance being is the site we will be using has quite a few tenting pitches and they advised that these will be closed, but even if you have own facilities but do not want to use them you could have a full refund, credit note valid for 12 months or you could book new dates, perfect, so you dont need to be a member of the CAMC if you do not wish to run the risk of loosing your deposit, many commercial sites are now offering many different options all that i can see are very customer friendly we are off, svcd pitch booked so no problems 4th May thru 18the May

The arguments for/against chargable facilitie blocks has ,i understand ,,been looked at
For , it may make for cheaper pitches?
Against to gain acess would need a code/key and it is quite often noted how often when the building is so accessed, the ammount of those who forget the code or their key,and some kind person lets them in

I for one don't mind paying for a campsite with fantastic facilities that i am not allowed to use come the magic date of April 14. Firstly, i am actually able to go away on holiday while most of UK are not allowed or equipped to do so. Secondly our CAMC has been financially battered by C19 restrictions (closed for what seems like forever by the scourge of C19), so staying on site without the public areas open (temporarily) will be a great boost for the club whilst being a small inconvenience for me. I will happily swap the luxury of quality showers and washroom and toilet facilities for the luxury of taking a break and that also supports our club. If you think outside the box the club needs to pay for itself, and if it doesn't we all lose the luxury of quality reliable campsites.
And by the way, i don't work for the club and i am a normal paying member of the club. We should all remember - something is better than nothing!

You are right. I was referring (badly) to how the security control systems work. We have used many sites that have some form of access control for whatever reason. Such systems do work and could be applied to control use only by those that have paid for access. I'm not advocating nor supporting paying separately use of facilities.

Not really the same. The price of a pint will be displayed and yes you would rightly feel cheated if you received less when your pint arrived.
However if the pub openly displayed the fact that the for the price of a pint you would only receive half then it's your decision to pay that price or walk away before ordering. The price and what you will get is there for you to see. No one is being cheated, no one is being forced to buy, it's your choice to buy.
But by the same token, or logic, if will be clear (and yes it will be) that the site facilities are closed but the price is what it was, then again it is your choice to pay and stay under those conditions or go somewhere else I would say?
