A new update of Archies Camping is available from 01/03/2020. For those not familiar with Archies Camping, it is a website from which you can download (free) a file of POI's for more than 34,000 campsites throughout Britain and Europe. Formats are available for almost all types of SatNav.

Additionally there is an App available for smartphones, for a small fee, accessed through the website, but with this you can use it off-line and get free lifetime updates.

Download the files or the App here: Archies Camping

I know we're not currently travelling, but Archie has been working very hard in Lockdown to update information.  In this update many campsites have had to be removed due to closure. The good news, however, is that a much larger number of mainly small campsites have been added. These additional campsites can be found all over Europe from Finland to Portugal and from Ireland to Greece.

In addition, several thousand opening dates have also been adjusted for 2021. Unfortunately, it is not possible to find the correct opening dates for all of the more than 34,000 campsites, so it remains very important not to rely 100% on the correctness of the dates, especially in this time with Covid19. So always check whether the campsite of your choice is actually available.

And if you find any inaccuracies, please let me Archie know by email, so that he can post the correct information online!

Although 'Archie' works tirelessly to keep things updated he does rely on users to let him know of wrong information, so please keep in touch via the website if you need to contact him.

Please share this update with any forums, Facebook Groups, or on other social media platforms where you think it might be useful.

Whilst I appreciate Archies hard work in compiling these POI's over the years it is an unfortunate fact that unless you have a freestanding sat nav most, if not all, built in sat navs won't accept the POI's. Even when you have a free standing sat nav not all of them will accept them either. Such a shame as a wonderful resource.
