What’s coming up, into bloom, not behaving, visiting, living in, passing through? Post a photo or two, and share your garden year with others 😁

Hellebores, lovely bright crocus, and snowdrops.

I had Starlings stealing the Robins mealworms so I had a cunning plan to keep them out-‘they don’t like confined spaces✔️, they’re not trusting✔️, I’ve got it’. So I built a cage around the mealworms, that’ll show em. . .Nope they flew straight in & took em anyway. Just for the entertainment-they’ve earned the mealworms👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻😂

Nice to get up close, Rocky.

We've a good display of blackbirds having a punch up this afternoon. Guess it's that time of year again.

Our dwarf daffodils are out now but our growed up ones are late this year. The verges have been full of them in bloom for several weeks.

Just a few signs of spring here too and a little Camellia in a pot that has finally decided to put on a show.

Lovely Camellia. I bet the beautiful spring primroses are out along the walls down your way Tinny? Daffys aren’t quite as well on up here.

We had a pair of small burglars on our back gate feeding area this morning. Big garden, they are around all day, getting very tame.

They are very funny to watch, early morning is “crazy ivan” time, lots of chasing and tail wafting. We could do with applying for some of the squirrel birth control pellets they are talking about! One of local cats like to stalk them, but it’s no match for their antics.

I thought our Woodpecker  was around this morning. But no, just a very clever Starling mimicking their call. Clever birds, beautiful colours as well. Another mimics our car alarm.....whee hoo, whee hoo😂

It's a bit early for the primroses yet, TDA. The hedge on our hill will be covered in them when they bloom👍🏻

We've got primroses out, they're very sheltered on our footpath, the mild weather will bring the rest on soon. 🏵

I was fed up of the sunflower hearts being dropped all over the floor so I came up with an idea from Granpa’s Yorkshire discount store(my brain), thanks Grandpa👍🏻. I took a plant water dish drilled holes & hung it up, now the Bods can see the fat ones without tossing em over their shoulder-jobs a gud un. My father was not a maker of things Grandpa was-& then some👍🏻😊

Noticed primroses out in the ditch and churchyard yesterday. Ditch was carpeted with them. Took my back to childhood escapades of straddling the ditches for ages picking and bunching them for the Mothers Day service.

Our squirrels would just tip the dish up🤨They regularly take tops off feed tubes and empty out the whole tube😂

PS-the repurposed water dish stops the Starlings from hoovering up the sun hearts as they’re too heavy to get a purchase when they attempt a landing👍🏻

We are inundated with Jackdaws at the moment, so might work with them as well. 👍

We have Magpies mainly, the Rooks & Crows give the garden a wide berth until there are songbird chicks in the nests then they’re stealing them☹️. The Dogs don’t bother the songbirds/don’t frighten them but they shoot down the garden when magpies start cackling👍🏻

Impy beautiful smelling plants. I love both of them but Daphne seem to be short lived in my hands, they will do a few years. Its lovely to watch the bees seeking out the early nectar and pollen.

It worked out perfect for us all B2. It was a peachy orange whilst near the horizon & seen thru the atmosphere then reverted to the silvery colour when higher, I was happy to witness it👍🏻🙂

PS-note to self. . .Ask the ERYCC to move the power lines to enable a better shot👍🏻😊
