Some good news in our weekend paper, for those planning a holiday in Andalucia next year. The Andalucia.org advert states that for the whole of 2021 they will provide free travel insurance for anyone staying in tourist accommodation. Hopefully this will include campsites.

Yes, I should have said 'Covid' Travel insurance - but still a major benefit for the older members whose travel insurance cost is already sky-high.

The insurnace is only valid for regulated accommodation and is limited to a max of 4000 euros. I doubt that is enough to cover a serious bout of COVID. You still need to cover yourself in transit to and from Andalusia.

Yes it does include campsites but only the regulated ones what ever that means. Are there such things as unregulated campsites?

Hi ValDa, as Peedee says you still need cover for the travel part so seems it will most benefit those with minimum levels of cover.

As EHIC cards are still valid, and assuming that people will have one even if they don’t take insurance out, the cover might help.

Personally we decided last summer that a trip was not worth the hassle and now the vaccines are approved then any trip will be after we receive that.

Interestingly I have had two recent conversations where I asked what the expectations were of insurance for Covid-19, and the answers were quite vague, and  in essence the expectation was the cover that EHIC gives plus that provided by travel insurance.

I have cover via Flex Plus and the only exceptions to Covid-19 cover apply to some cancellations prior to travel so once vaccinated, and travel is allowed, we hope to be able to put 2020 behind us and head off............... somewhere!

I'm staying put as well until we have both been vacccinated. Even then, is it going to be worth a great deal of effort when many places are going to be in shut down in an uncertain environment. Think I will be restricting travel to this country for a while yet.
