Moorland Farm CL Banwell
Hi, we're thinking of staying at this CL next year and wondered what the route from the M5 is really like? I've had a look via google maps and it looks like a single track lane for 3 miles before you get to the site. There is also a tight turn into the final lane and access onto the site looks quite restricted for a large caravan.
Perhaps it's the google view skewing the actual view however we have an 8ft wide twin axle caravan which is 8 metres long so wondering if this is a bit to much for this location.
Any thoughts or advice would be welcome.
I will of course get in touch with the owners too but thought I'd get some feedback from the Club Together community too.
Many thanks.
Max.

Looking at GoogleEarth, you'd do better approaching from the south (Stonebridge hamlet) when you would only have just over a mile of single track to negotiate. Still doesn't get round a face-off with a tractor though. Have a zoom in to street view.

The lanes in this part of Somerset are very narrow with drainage ditches on the sides. The one adavntage is they're fairly straight but you definietly need to check with the owners to see if it's feasible. It's a CL I'd like to use but it obviously needs a careful approach.

I hope you get a reassuring answer because it looks to be a very pleasant place with such obliging and helpful owners - they might even offer to turn out and escort you in ! That would surely deserve flowers or a bottle of wine.
But the general point is that however tempting the biggest, longest, widest caravans look in the showroom you have to face the fact that they don't go everywhere.
Good luck.

Thanks for the replies. As it's just an overnight stopover on our way to Cornwall I think we'll choose somewhere more accessible.
I agree that for some places the additional width of the caravan could prove a little too risky for some locations however, looking at google street view, I think most caravans could find this location a challenge should they meet another large vehicle along the route.
Thanks again.

Hope you find somewhere, we used to visit a CL in Cornwall with over a mile long approach down a narrow steep banked lane...people used to arrive on the site saying "phew!" I think you can get to most places but some require more effort and probably a longer stay.
