Hi - we’ve just purchased(Oct) a new Elldis Avante GT 550 and have noticed that the water collects at the front . I’ve lowered and raised the front to see if this helps but no.

It cant be good for the sealant around the roof lights.

Is this normal and nothing to be concerned about or should we contact the caravan manufacturer.....

thanks in advance for any feedback .

Your first contact should be your dealer  as they are responsible for warranty work   Elddis would  probably refer you back to them,

Most caravan/motorhome roofs have a degree of pooling as they are seldom "billiard table flat". Unless there is a significant undulation, tilting the van should solve the problem. When I had my caravan, I always put a substantial tilt to it during the winter when it was jacked up.

Most van's have a raised strip across the front and back we're the roof is joined up to the front and back panels, some makes also have a raised awning rails which also can stop rain water coming off the sides. We had this problem with our last van which was an Elddis.  You may just have to live with it,  and tilt the van forward or back which ever  is best for you.

Ours has a slight natural inclination to the rear and offside due to the drive, otherwise pooling would occur.

Many thanks for all of your feedback - I called the dealer today and he too advised that it is common to see some pooling on the Elddis Avante and Buccaneer models. Don't worry was his words !

I have got the van raised at the front but will raise some more to see if it makes any difference.

It's brand new so will watch carefully and any internal issues and it will be straight in !

    Thanks again for your replies.

It doesn't take much of a slope to shed water.

because my caravan is tilted down a  little at the back to help stop water pooling I get a load of green algae and general dirt down the rear offside corner of the van .... 😯

We used to have this problem also.  When on the drive at home we had the van tipped nose up. On a pitch however when it had rained, you always had to wary of when hitching up that you didn't get a curtain of water on top of you. Maybe its just an Elddis thing though cos none of our other 7 vans ever had a problem. The water collected around the stargazer roof light,

As others have said, I prefer to have the front of the van "nose down". This means that the rear corner legs are extended more, the rear legs have locks on them so IMO the "van" is harder to hitch up and steal, as well as clearing any water.
