That's what the Press suggests. Announcement Monday and lockdown from Wednesday until the beginning of December.

Whatever level of lockdown/restriction gets introduced next week, I suspect it will not be truly a lockdown. Educational establishments, I understand are likely to remain open, as will probably our borders. The colander may have fewer holes but it will still let out the water.
Such a scenario may slow the virus but it will not stop it. Only total, and I mean total, isolation will stop it. The less draconian the measures, the less effective the action will be. Most of us are in the age group that places us in the vulnerable category. Whilst no-one likes restrictions, I haven't finished "SKI"ing yet and I for one will welcome a lockdown, both for my protection and the avoidance of grief for many.

it could be a family Mum, Dad + kids, along with granny and grandad who happen to be the kids childminders
that is us, for daughter who lives 5 miles away, daughter in East Grinstead and Gdaughter not seen since June, she is front line teacher and volunteer care home worker.
Today we are going to have a family bbq down at the beach house, in the pouring rain which will be our pre lock down last supper , people in beach house next door going to do the same, OH preparing to move into her mums place in Tring, much the same as last time, but we just have to get on with it, no sense in mopping around

Back in march we saw the arrival of several people who have second homes in the village.
Most of these are let when the owners are not using them, some continuing to do so even during the first lockdown, and I suspect we will see the same arrivals of the owners should we move to a second English national lockdown.
I believe that Cornwall Council had many calls reporting alleged breaches and feel that this will increase second time around.

Yep, real stormy wild west today. I'm glad not to be out on the road in this.

beach house is in the lee of the IOW and Southampton so although we get very strong winds, great wind surfing and kite boarding area, we are not overly exposed, although we did loose the wind turbine earlier in the year, my fault i should have lashed it down. Had 2 nurses use it in April for self isolation and they thought it was great when we had a couple of storms, but it is built like the proverbial Brick S*** H, but we have noticed increasing high tides which could be an issue going forward.

I look at it a slightly different way. They should be thankful things are being controlled more to prevent the spread. It’s creeping out day by day. And some areas don’t have the resources to cope as well.
The experiment in putting Northern areas into Tiers hasn’t worked. I sincerely hope that other areas aren’t used as an experimental testing ground for further mismanagement.

Yep, any rule that keeps folk in their home territory is good by me. That's being practical and realistic in view of limited NHS resources, not selfish on a personal level.

Its not the government actions or inactions that spread the virus its happens between people. I'm just thankful that I won't have to explain to any of those in lower infection areas that their luck is in, their lives are going to be disrupted because others elsewhere have not been able or willing to follow simple instruction and guidance.
