Content of email sent out by Club, surprised you have not had it?
In light of the recent Government announcements on local lockdowns, we wanted to provide you with some information and advice to help you plan your stays on Club campsites, in line with the latest Government information.
The safety and well being of our guests, staff and local communities, remains our top priority and so we ask for your continued support to keep our campsites as safe as possible. In order to support this, all members will be asked to register their attendance at our sites through the NHS Test & Trace App to record their visit. In addition, we may check the residential addresses on our system to confirm arriving members are not from an area that does not permit travel.
If you are affected by these new Government announcements and have a booking which is affected by these guidelines, please cancel or amend your booking for free to allow other members to benefit from the availability.
Please remember to check our information page before booking or traveling to campsites.
ENGLAND
Following the latest Government announcements for England regarding local lockdowns and the introduction of the Local COVID alert levels the majority of our Club campsites are within the Local Alert level of Medium and remain open to members and guests.Members and guests who reside in a Local Alert level of Very High should not travel to any of the Club’s other campsites whilst the alert is in place but can continue to stay at a campsite within their own very high alert area.
Please also be aware that on arrival at one of our campsites that is within a very high alert area, our sites teams have been asked to monitor home address details to ensure we are keeping all of our guests as safe as possible.
WALES
With effect from Friday 16th October at 6pm, travel into Wales is forbidden if you reside in an area in England that is classified with either a High or Very High Alert Level.
Following the latest Welsh Government announcements on county borough lockdowns, members and guests who reside within the county boroughs of each Club campsite can continue to stay at the site.
If you are travelling through a lockdown area to reach a destination outside of the borough then you will be able to travel through, but only if there is no alternative route available.
SCOTLAND
Whilst Scotland have introduced a number of local restrictions in response to COVID, these do not currently affect any of our Club campsites.
Please remember to check our information page before booking or traveling to campsites.
Whilst we understand the inconvenience and frustration this may cause, we thank you in advance for ensuring you comply with the requirements above. This will ensure we continue to be seen as a highly responsible organisation by Government and enforcing authorities, allowing us to keep our sites operating and welcoming you where the restrictions allow. Can I also take this opportunity to say a big thank you to all of our members for your ongoing support this year and for your kind messages and comments. By renewing membership and making bookings, you’ve enabled us to continue to be able to provide the products and services you love and enjoy to help you with your touring.

In my opinion, the information given out in that email is vague.
The email says 'should not travel' and 'sites teams have been asked to monitor home addresses ....'
A question being asked for example is, if somebody from a Tier 3 area turns up with a booking at a club site in a different area/tier, will they be refused entry to the site. Simple yes or know.
I've sent an email to the club to ask for clarification on this point.

The club seem very slow in reacting. Despite the web site being down for maintenance last night, no update for Nottinghamshire seems to have been carried out. We enter tier 3 at midnight. Currently there is no mention on the Covid pages re Clumber Park, or the site pages and you can still book. Presumably the club are contacting those who should not be going this weekend and telling them they are cancelled.🤔

To remove any further ambiguity, and to stop the possibility of turning site wardens into police people, would it now be best if the club just closed up shop until the New Year and then re-evalulate the situation, yes there will be loss of some revenue, but half term is now almost over and a large proportion of sites will close within the next month anyway, it would also contribute into making a lot of peoples lives a whole lot safer.

My thoughts too, Rufs, but judging by the example the club set back in the spring when some of us were begging them to close sites for the good of all, they won't do so until forced. 😖

We've just arrived back from a few days at Chatsworth and I was talking to the warden yesterday. Never seen so many empty pitches at a popular site but then it's surrounded by Tier 3 areas in Manchester, Sheffield and, from tomorrow, Nottinghamshire. Plenty of pitch availability even last weekend.
Apparently, if you arrive at a site before the area in which you live moves to Tier 3 you can stay.
They have to check future arrivals and, if they see anyone arriving after the area in which they live has moved to Tier 3, they call the member and tell them the booking is cancelled and not to turn up.
I suppose Clumber could still stay open but will only be able to accept new arrivals from tomorrow from Nottinghamshire or possibly other Tier 3 areas
Confusing or what?

TW & Rufs. I was thinking along the same lines especially about somewhere like Clumber which is very popular with the local families, facility blocks open and an ideal transmission ground for Covid.
If in doubt maybe close facilities as a precaution?

and you only need to read the post on this forum "Clumber Park" to see just how much incorrect information is being put about, who would want to be a site warden, would think they would be glad to have to close.
there are also reports of lots of empty pitches on some sites, so you have to ask the question, are these sites viable just now ?

It might be that CAMC has to run sites til they are told to close, if you close on a voluntary basis inurances, government aid etc are affected?
However, as you say, at some point the cost of keeping sites open is probably not viable in these circumstances.

Even on the last national lockdown 17 sites were still operating "sheltering "members
Other sites still had staff there although futloughed, which finishes this weekend
I would think as posted unless as last time an order is issued by them that "think they are in charge"then any financial help would not be forth coming

I am guessing , but this probably does not make any economic sense, 17 sites with say 12 units on each site ?, if there is a requirement to provide this level of service, then the club probably needs to be more proactive now by reducing the number of sites available and making it very clear which sites will be available so that members that need to take up this service can plan to be in the areas served by these sites.

+1. A lot of sites are due to close next Monday anyway; if they don't want to close all sites, surely it would make sense to close all facilities at those sites remaining open? I also question whether it's even viable to keep sites open after this weekend anyway, with occupancy much less.

so do i, however, i was talking to a Mh'er yesterday who would now be normally overwintering in southern Spain, but due to present circumstances has stayed in the UK, they are of no fixed abode and they claim that there are many more currently in the UK in a similar position, could be a money spinner if managed correctly.

All of Nottinghamshire is now in tier 3 which leaves us limited choice of campsites. However, we've booked a pitch at C&CC Teversal next week to preserve our sanity. We won't be partying or socializing, just having somewhere different to walk.
We're fans of Maureen!

going on CAMC rules i think you would have to live in Nottinghamshire to visit the C&CC Teversal site , you are not supposed to be travelling from a Tier 3 area to another Tier 3 area, to do this you may have to travel through a Tier 1 area which i thought was frowned upon.
