I think in Wales the idea was a blanket ban that was simple to understand. It seems that in every case more and more people are trying to find excuses to get round restrictions. Just see the hysteria because you cant buy a pair of socks in Tesco. Is that a necessary item?

Well, seemingly it didnt work. According to the BBC news a Tesco store in Cardiff told a woman she could not buy period products during lockdown as they were not considered essential.

Apparently the supermarket chain later apologised after cordoning off sanitary towels and tampons in a store in Cardiff.

    Crazy!

You need to check with your 1st ministers statement Fish, He/they have a very fair reason to do it the way they have done it. The retailers have read the statement wrong.

You cant get people to accept things all the time. Its in the nature of some to flaunt all rules. Is there any better option to try and stop the spread and SAVE lives. No one anywhere seem to be able to come up with one. The update on TV today was very clear and specific. Even Tesco apologised for They themselves getting it wrong, not the Senedd.

I have tread a report saying this aisle was blocked off due to damage caused by an attempted break-in. You never who to believe these days.

I've also seen that report, Apparently Tesco changed their story after initially saying they were not essential items.

The main thing is the items are now available.

The story really shows the corrosive impact these twitter like sites have which in effect spread a false story, It got the real message about the lockdown  muddled, perhaps at the cost of some lives.

It’s all a bit Kafkaesque, you can buy a tin of dog food, but it’s forbidden to buy a tin opener 🤔

Seriously though, I really hope the rules do save lives, and it’s only for a couple of weeks after all. 🙂

I understand that nearly all Tesco stores (not expresses as they are mostly in converted buildings ) the isles are all the same layout and are advised from their HQ (about a mile from here)which each one has to display (and what to close off) ,so unless other stores in Wales/ Cardiff? were also not selling the products in the "disputed" store , then i would accept the explanation that the isle was taped off because of the attempted break-in ,

    not the first "hysterical comments"

It's all fake does anyone really think a virus can be controlled like this or that Donald Trump really had Covid 19 or Boris had it all that will happen is that when the restrictions are are eased it will flare up again. Just like any other illness we have to learn to live with it.

Yes I belive that the Orange one and Pinocchio both had the virus. Why? Because both are so egotistical as to believe it an abhorence against their very being to be considered mere mortals like us and prone to our failities.

I've never understood why anyone makes a statement that presumes to encompass everyone believing that statement.

It’s a sad fact that Conspiracy Theorists are rife at the moment, Covid, Anti-vaccers, Etc....... It’s the same sort of slow drip drip that feeds some of the very worst terrorists to commit awful crimes. Nasty people who whip up blatant untruths, prey on those too weak, lacking intelligence or vulnerable for other reasons, until it becomes reality rather than fiction. Even a report on BBC news today about such a person.....

On the upside TDA at least we’re not in America, I was watching a piece from CNN that showed American anti maskers coughing & spitting at folk & calling them names for wearing masks🤷🏻‍♂️, that is unreal☹️, assault I’d say.

Yes there are some amusing theories. But equally there are nonsensical moves by many governments. It is impossible to prevent all transmission and yet they seem to think that total lockdowns are the answer instead of more targeted approaches. As a result 'I'm alright Jack .... but many are not.

I do know of one man in a wheelchair with various health problems following being knocked over 20 years ago. He actually sees no risks from the virus, only 5G. Mind you I think he probably takes too much wacky baccy and believes far to much of what he reads online - easily led.

Interesting bit in today's Telegraph. A study on 365,000 by Imperial College showed a drop off in Covid antibody levels by an overal 26.5% over 3 months. However, the figure was lower in the young  and higher in the elderly. At present this does not mean a lot as no one knows what antibody level provides immunity. Although it potentially could mean vaccination being required twice a year. On a positive note the Oxford vaccine is progressing well and is giving good antibody responses across all age groups. Ours is often a problem, hence the age specific flu jab. If trials keep producing positive results, roll out could be in the first half of next year. It seems the May tour of Scotland that we put off from this year to next, might be a bit premature.☹️ However, France in September might be on.😀

When govenments around the world admit  ,as it seems most of  the general public are saying ,  no one knows the direction to go to conquer this virus , and are it seems all trying  their own "ideas" that each countries "experts?"are advising, with some having more positive effect and the longer it goes on , (it is less than a year,in most of the world) the more information is coming as to where ,what and who is more suseptable

I see Spain is now calling a six month state of alarm and Italy has gone from confidence back to controls again. It isn't something that can be solved quickly but the longer things go on the more helpful discoveries will hopefully intervene and improve the situation for everyone.

" I have my suspicions about Trump and his miraculous recovery too "

We have a nephew who is over in Washington with his family working on some hush-hush government business. He says that the Trump Miracle is widely derided over there.  But just at the moment the political situation is so toxic that nobody dares point the finger and question the reported "facts".

If you do a bit of reading, America is absolutely rife with conspiracy theories at the moment, and it is having a huge effect on some communities. It’s very sad how a lot of ordinary, decent folks are getting drawn into some of the wildest theories and lies. It’s starting to happen over here as well, folks spending to much time looking at the internet, clicking deeper and deeper into link articles....☹️

Forget all the hype, false news. conspiracy theories - the only way we can get on top of this is by following the guidance. ALL OF US must social distance, wash hands and travel as little as possible. Simples.

If you are earning and paying taxes then going to work is essential.  Someone has to pay back all the loans Rishi is taking out to support the rest of the population, including those of us who are retired and looking for a pay rise laughing.
