The Club AGM will take place at 2pm on Saturday 24 October 2020.

However, due to the challenges and uncertainties arising from the Covid-19 pandemic and with the health and safety of our members being our priority, the meeting will no longer take place at Chester Racecourse.

The AGM will now be available to view via a Zoom webinar. More information can be found here: www.caravanclub.co.uk/agm/ smile

Well, I've registered (because it said places are limited!). It's the only time I'm ever likely to go to a CAMC meeting.

Why are places limited? Surely this is not limited by zoom? I would have thought it an ideal medium to reach out to as many members as possible?

I'll be interested to hear about your experience! I've read through the details and it's a learning curve if you've not taken part in anything similar!

(I thought I'd done quite well getting the magazine crossword answers to the club on line till it came back as not sent!) wink

I think we've all gone up a technical notch during Covid so I admire the club for getting everything organised, I hope it goes well.

Perhaps the reality is that AGM's are usually relatively sparsely attended and if they have a massive interaction online it will turn into a giant question and answer session rather than an AGM? I have never got the impression that many questions are asked at and AGM but that could be wrong as they could just edit them out of the official AGM Minutes.

Money? I think Zoom costs may vary based on the number of participants.

Hi there, just to confirm Zoom allows routinely for 100 people to join a meeting and we have secured an additional licence which will allow for more people to view the proceedings however there is still limit on the number so if you are interested in attending we advice you register now.

I am trying to vote for the AGM but the system says I have not entered an ID that it has not asked for. Anyone able to help?

    This is the message

The Unique Voter Code that you have entered is invalid. There could be a number of reasons for this:

You have entered the code incorrectly. Please click on the previous step and enter the number again.
The event that you are trying to participate in has closed. Please contact your event organizer.

The form does not request a unique voter code

I cannot help but I get the same result. I also note if you want to ask a question via Slido, the number of characters allowed are restricted and are too few for my needs. If you want to see the questions already asked, log onto >Slido<, the code is E936

Thanks for that Peedee. Interesting that you can like a suggestion but can't dislike it! Can you ask a question but not tune into the event?

Looks like the questions are separately presented...if they get chosen? So I presume you don't need to watch the event. Very limited on word space.

Just to advise questions are only edited to remove the membership number and those that submit a question are advised of this. smile

My understanding is that all questions will be answered but not all at the AGM. Only those chosen will be replied to at the AGM others hopefully will be responded to on the AGM web page.

    From the instructions:

When will my question be answered?

Only a number of the most liked/popular questions will be answered during ‘Any Other Business’by the Club Chairman, Treasurer, Director General and Club Director(s) at the virtual AGM.

All other questions will be answered afterwards and will be available to view on the Club website(www.camc.com/agm).

Unfortunately we are not able to respond to each question individually, and some questions maybe grouped together for a shared response to be given

I am not familiar with Zoom so I was wondering whether I need to download anything to my computer in order just to watch the proceedings? Will I need a computer with a camera and microphone or can I just watch it like a YouTube video? Given that the questions don't seem to be asked at the meeting by the submitting member I imagine there is no two way communication required?

You do need the Zoom App. Once you have that loaded you just follow the instructions in the email which you receive as a result of registration. The host in this case the Club controls who can speak and if you don't request to speak then you don't need a  micraphone. A camera is optional and not necessary and yes you can just watch and listen if that is all you wish to do. The host controls everything.

Zoom has a good "Help Menu"

P.S. just noticed the registration email gives an email address to send questions to presumably as an alternative to Sildo.

Well now I've got to grips with it all I need is the ability to link up on the day! Thanks for your input  Rowena and Peedee too....hope some more questions appear, a bit of a slow start, I quite like grappling with "new to me" tech things! wink

Even I have managed to download Zoom and followed the link in the OP and registered. I know Rowena said that spaces were limited but there clearly is still room.

PS Only 17 questions asked thus far. Deposits seem to be popular!!!

Prompted, no doubt, by the difficulty in obtaining pitches recently.

And requests to book the type of pitch needed..but where are all the members and their questions?! I'm a bit surprised from what I read on CT to find such a lack of real time interest.

With being involved as a long time member ,i have in the last few years become even more aware of the "complaints"? both on here and in site reviews by those who are great at spouting off when they think they have anonymity, but are not willing to put their head above the parapet, when the opportunity presents itselfwink

I'm not criticising anyone JVB, I'm just stating that here's a good opportunity to put forward questions in a way not presented before.

No need for you to "criticise?" you only have to read site"complaints" or reviews from some  ,which site staff were completely unaware of that had been a "problem"

If you didn't want to put your head above the parapet, members can at least hit the like button on questions they agreed with.

Looking at the questions? there are not many likes either, and noticed that some of the questions show how some really need to understand the easy booking systemsurprised

ps i have "liked" the most important wink

What I have noticed is that if you like a question it jumps up the list, so I wonder if the questions that will be asked will be based on the number of "likes"? Given the number of people that comment of here about things it is a bit disappointing that so few have asked questions or liked questions. This is probably the best chance to get answers to thus far unanswered questions.

I assume the list will be closed to further questions as of tomorrow but will it still be open for "likes"? Better get your views in today!
