I am booking the Isle of Wight Ferry through the Caravan Club and I am going in a van and not the motorhome.  Can I book as a car, it allows me to put in the correct dimensions for the van.  However, it then says if going in a van then call a number, which is not open until Monday, I am hoping to go before then.

Has anybody booked online with a van?

Thank you.

Try ringing Wightlink/Red Funnel direct as you’ve not much time to spare.

I think you should do as TW & the website suggests. Cost aside, they'll put you in specific loading lanes to go in the lower deck with the HGVs, car & caravans etc, rather than the upper deck where the cars go.

Thank you for your replies, I did call Wightlink and we have to go through Caravan Club because we are classed as freight.

Err, I don't think so. Anyone can book direct with the ferry company.

There is no compulsion to book via CAMC unless you want CAMC rates but I was under the impression you wanted to sail before tomorrow 🤷‍♂️

I'm afraid CAMC haven't yet woken up to the need for 7 day staffing.

That's one reason some folk are now booking direct with the ferry companies. You might pay more but you get better service and, often, better cancellation/amendment terms.

Is it the day or just the time you wish to change? If its the day then yes you would have to contact the Club, that is the same whether its the IOW or other European crossings. If its just a change of crossing on the day I would have thought that Red Funnel would be able to accommodate you if you were flexible on timing? Having said that we have been turned away from the Southampton Terminal when we arrived too early but it was a very busy time. Are you staying at Southlands? If so might it be worth giving them a ring to see if there are any out of hours support?
