New Year

Just been looking for Club Site availability for 5 nights over New Year. Cirencester and Moreton in Marsh sites were our choices but both show they have no availability for the 30th and 31st December. Are people really only staying for one night or are the sites actually closed?
Both sites had availability on either side of the 30th and 31st.

I suspect it's not as simple as that. People book for all lengths of stay. Some will stay for two weeks some for varying number of days over Christmas and the same will be true over New Year. There are bound to be cancellations as it's still quite early so I would book the days that are available and keep coming back to check for days as they become available. Obviously if you need to know now that won't work but if you are willing to take a chance I am pretty sure you will managed to get what you want.

We did a lot of New Year stays and many, like us just booked for the two or three nights and quite a few, booked just the 31st. So yes people who are working etc do just take a night away. smile

I take your point, and although I don’t profess to have the answer, surely that’s the problem? If I book the nights on either side of New Year on both sites in the hope that the 30th and 31st become available, I will have prevented other members being able to book which cannot be right, especially if the full period I want doesn’t become available and I cancel when it’s too late for others to book. I know some will say it’s what everybody does but that doesn’t make it right or fair.

Just had a look at both sites even Broadway also full, but interesting still dates available for 20212022 xmas/new year. As David said perhaps try to book and wait for cancellations or look at other sites or even private/cl sites good luck.

I can more or less say that there will be cancellations, people never seem to be as fit and healthy at that time of the year so I'd say go ahead and give it a go. Some sites have waiting lists, try a phone call later, we've had a late cancellation at Hillhead in the past. smile

By the way, after the 1st of January on sites which stay open all year a mass exodus occurs. If you want a quiet break that's a good time to visit.

You can only book on one site, not both. The system will not let you double book.

Don't worry about cancelling later as it will probably help someone else.
