So what would you like to know?
The type of car I drive?
How many inches of insulation have I got in my loft?
How many solar panels of what type and in what configuration and output do I have on my roof - house, boat & motorhome?
Do I have an energy storage system?
What’s my feed-in tariff?
Do I have a water meter?
Do I utilise a anaerobic digestion system?
How many days did I spend EHU -v- off grid in any year since the beginning of time?
I could go on.... but please ask and if I’ve got any spare time in the next 5 years I’ll attempt a reply.

There’s a very simple solution to that.

We have had a MH with solar panels for about a year and a half and used it very successfully off grid for a few days last September / October. Yet whilst that ran our lights, powered our TV and charged our phones and pads, it wouldn't run the heating or the fridge. That had to be done with good old LPG.
If we had been on EHU some of the electric burned would have been generated by solar, wind and hydro as well as gas. Personally if both electricity and gas are used responsibly I can't see that one is significantly greener than the other.
Plus from the thread title point of view a MH is a sort of mini service pitch. The ease of filling and dumping its large tanks, to me makes it less green than fetching water in an aquaroll and not that different to a service pitch.

Depends whether you use refillable or bottled gas. The former is cheaper than comparable electricity cost. Yes, renewables will be in the mix but there are significant distribution costs involved compared to local solar generation. The more we use solar the less we need other forms of electricity generation.
Before CS asks....yes I do have a refillable gas system and LPG adapters for over there.

We do have refillable but I wasn't considering cost, that is secondary to protecting the environment. My point was that although I could escape EHU by going off grid, I couldn't escape much of the carbon footprint, as its use would be replaced by gas in the main. Only a very small percentage of my power requirements could be provided by the solar roof panels.

I use my solar panel every day, it keeps my batteries charged when the motorhome is not in use.

I wonder what the Club is now thinking? They set up a working party to look into the increasing use of electricity driven by the advent of electric vehicles. Increased consumption and tariffs are also of concern and is only being covered by increases in site fees. Result increased member complaints about costs of staying on Club sites.

SB was also playing the environmental card, which if you just replace EHU with cheap refillable gas, rather falls down as an arguement.
I believe the CC now charge an extra tariff if you want to charge your electric hybrid or full EV. So they seem to have addressed that one.

Guilty as charged and i am really looking forward to sitting on a hard standing fully svcd pitch for 28 days, not sure about my carbon footprint, gas in my cylinders is at least 18 months old and as we dont watch telly and have expensive gadgets onboard I think it would be safe to say my carbon footprint whilst away is far less than at home, and after living in Scotland for 12 years we have all the warm clothing one could imagine should it be necessary

Result increased member complaints about costs of staying on Club sites
Where do you get this from? Do you have access to member complaints details PD? How?
We were told by a serving warden that complaints (real ones written in to the club) about costs are very few and very much in the minority.
But if you have better first hand information?

I consider them as grumbles rather than proper complaints to HQ. Not that they would make much difference. The CMC offer a product and if one does not feel it offers what you want for a price that you are happy with then it makes sense to go elsewhere as plenty pay the price.
For me they offer what I want and cost is not an issue.

This implies members writing in, you may not have meant that but that is the way you posted. I can only reply to what you post, if you meant on here you should have said so.
Moving on and assume you meant on here. Well a few points there. How many regular posters are there on CT? 50 might be too high? You give an estimate. Of those how many actually 'complain' about rising costs, is that number justify you saying many different posters and increased member complaints? I would say not in my view.
Also using your own style of posting I would say that there are increasing member complaints about not being able to get a pitch, certainly as many 'complaints' about that as rising costs. Indeed in the last few weeks that has been the main talking point.
But of course complaining about costs on here is useless, firstly the number of posters is too small to extrapolate that to all members. Secondly what will the club look at, posts on here or full sites and all that income? Which will tell them more about if members are happy with club prices?
The only way to get this 'complaint' across is for people to stop using club sites. You have often if I recall correctly, posted this. But it would seem that people just aren't following your advice for some reason?

Cost are of no concern to me either but they are judging from the grumbles/complaints seen here. Plenty may well pay the price as I do if it is where I want to be and the duration is long enough.

CT may well be an opportunity for members to provide feedback, but I've seen little evidence of that feedback being taken seriously to be honest - one of the recurring points made, for example, is the wish to be able to book a HS - there's not been much movement on that.
Since the lockdown was lifted I've noticed a huge rise in the number of members leaving reviews as opposed to posting on threads and cost is very rarely mentioned even in the most unfavourable reviews. Costs are undoubtedly a concern to a small number of frequent posters on CT but they have nearly always gone on to say that they have found other satisfactory alternatives - it doesn't seem to have affected the popularity of club sites though and serviced pitches still seem to get fully booked up.

I suspect that the club notices grumbling threads about prices but also realise that there are cheaper and dearer sites but that a lot appreciate club sites and man pay as much or more for less amenities on a CMC site because many like me do not want the extra amenities.
Cost are of no concern to me either but they are judging from the grumbles/complaints seen here. Plenty may well pay the price as I do if it is where I want to be and the duration is long enough.

yes but stating that is one thing, actually reading the posts and doing anything about them is another. I'm sure occupancy rates and income play a greater part in their planning.
And after all if people who complain then go on, like you, to say they still go to club sites, why take any notice?

The did the trial and decided not to allow booking of hardstands. I think that they had already decided that before the trial.

M. It got rid of the free for all of opening the booking in December for the following year and at least there was a trial for booking hardstanding even if some think it was half hearted.

But the 'free for all' change wouldn't have have affected income would it? Anyway it is no different to the free for all booking now, just moved it to every month.
Again how do you know that change, and the trial, was due to CT?
