Just seen online reports that following cancellations and postponements by 35000 passengers the routs from Portsmouth To St Malo and Bilbao are being dropped with reductions in service on other routes.

Read this on the Independent website, nothing as yet on BF so, for me, unconfirmed.

Most odd. Although their website mentions they are considering consolidating sailings, with an announcement today. The timetable for St Malo still shows all the sailings and it was updated this morning. The report I saw was by Simon Calder. Perhaps a leak.

Whatever the reality is it won’t be good news. Brittany Ferries is living on the back of a €117m loan and that was necessary before FCO issued its latest travel advice for France/Spain etc,

David - do you have standard or flexi tickets?

I’m a big fan of Brittany Ferries and they seem to be operating reasonably concerning amendments, but there has to be a real possibility of collapse? The balance for my October trip will be collected next week and I’m pondering the best course of action.

Not good news at all. There’s some interesting comments on BF enthusiasts’ forum, sailing updates thread. Fingers crossed the company will survive, we’ve always enjoyed their crossings and, as with AD, have 2 bookings with them for 2021.

We like the St Malo crossing and have a booking on it in 2021. Lets hope it reappears again. It is a very popular route in normal times, so I wouldn't have thought they would want to axe it permanently.🤞

The link below has the BF statement. As well as the routes I mentioned the Armorique is being ‘rested’ with Pont Aven doing 3 trips a week to Roscoff.
