But the Labour MP for Leicester, Claudia Webbe, has said she believes a local lockdown is necessary for her constituency where 866 coronavirus cases have been recorded in the past two weeks

    media hype ????

dont know Leicester area or exactly where this ladies consituency is but i suspect no club sites or CL's in the immediate area, but this would be an interesting scenario if it were to take place in an area where club sites or Cl's are more prevalent.

I still doubt any sort of lockdown nut more likely keeping at the present level of restriction. And the media hype I refer to has nothing to do with number of cases but likelihood of lockdown

BBC News - Leicester lockdown: Restrictions could be extended for two weeks
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leicestershire-53217095

It appears to be not much more than a delay in opening pubs 🤷‍♂️

would tend to agree but it does pose an interesting question, if they extend all existing restrictions which some are calling for rather than doing it piece meal, then if there were campsites within that particular region, would they have to remain closed, or close if a lockdown was to be imposed after the 4th July when sites have opened.?

I doubt a need to close campsites. The main problem seems pretty localised in one area of Leicester rather than scattered through the community and suggests to me due to lack of distancing.

From the report that TW (was it?) referred to I think:

Ivan Browne, the city's director of public health, said he had received more detailed data on local cases.

"Interestingly it's very much around the younger working-age population and predominately towards the east part of our city," he told BBC Radio 4.

Just confirmed my CL booking for the 11th July....owner asked me to put cash in envelope, then into post box. Site has well spaced large pitches which are all fully serviced....so all good.

After reading several versions of the spike ,it seems it is mostly in the East of the city

As there is a very high Bame population is that where most are ?

what does surprise me, is the ease with which people seem to be able to find a suitable site/pitch, I would have thought that all the good places, and yours seems to be ideal, would have been taken by now, perhaps the glorious 4th is not going to be so glorious after all in the camping world with more folking deciding to stay at home.

    It would seem likely JVB

Dr Manish Pareek, a consultant at Leicester Royal Infirmary, said many of the recent cases were from "inner-city areas...which have high levels of ethnic diversity, pockets of deprivation but also quite crowded housing with inter-generational and multi-occupancy households".

"It brings together a number of factors which are almost like a perfect storm for a virus to be spread within," he added.

I don’t think you will find a single campsite of any description within the inner ring road around Leicester. And yes it has a comparably huge BAME population compared with many other places. Predominantly in the Eastern areas of the inner city. It’s not considered a tourist destination as such, although of interest to those interested in Richard III, the football team etc.....

Just a gentle reminder that if you wish to discuss the corona virus in detail beyond the use of CL's we do have a special thread for those discussions. Let's just keep this discussion to CL's and how they will manage with the restrictions imposed on them.

    Thanks

CLs received a draft document which was 22 pages long from Club HQ offering guidance about Covid ad Risk Assessments last week

It was comprehensive guidance, but could easily have overwhelmed a number of owners.

That's why we have an Owners Support Group, to help owners who have questions, or want reassurance.  The group is growing and very useful to those on it, but because it is run entirely by volunteers, with no funding, it relies on owners using Facebook for support.  Not all owners wish to use Facebook.

The club was going to have a 'private' area of Club Together to offer similar support, but the last I heard was that such plans were on hold.
