I am certainly not making light got of it K. My Mum and OH still taking lots of precautions, as am I.
In answer to your last question, sadly I think that that is the case, and it’s how the English ending of lockdown is happening. Individuals are now having to take their own precautions, while all around them many others are simply getting on with things in a variety of ways ranging from thinking of others to not giving a damn. Every journey I make, every shopping trip I might need, every interaction with others I have to make is being carefully assessed, and it’s the only way I can keep my Mum, OH and myself safe.
I fully accept that as the virus statistics go in the right direction, business needs to get back going. But it worries me about some of what is going on. Scotland appears to be doing very well, a more sensible approach.

Indeed business needs to take money ..... the country needs them to do so. I have only been out for the usual shop whilst following safe practice, to the tip and a water garden centre which was well organised.

How were Bournemouth expected to know that there would be two days of hot weather and bedlam? Why would they invest, probably many of thousands of pounds in providing portaloos (even if they could get them at short notice) not knowing what the demand would be? There might have been two days of torrential rain and there would have been already hard pressed public resources wasted.
I realise that Boris has a track record for unecessary wastage of public money (remember the water cannons?) but I think even he (or his local MP) might have criticised that use of public funds.

I fully accept that we need to gradually restart the economy, but am appauled at the unthinking actions of many.
From demonstrations in London and other places(including Scottish cities) to the crowds in Bournemouth, and all the other goings on.......have the majority no sense?

Well, I was thinking that if they'd been advised to shield up to now they would want to avoid all public areas on site (quite how they'd manage for water and waste disposal I'm not sure). So it would make sense to be fully stocked before arriving on site - presumably we're talking about a relatively short stay?

I'm sure the majority do have more sense, Kj - even the estimated 500000 at Bournemouth yesterday hardly make a majority. But it's all OK - at least according to cabinet minister George Eustice today!

No idea how long somebody might wish to be on site having possibly been confined for over 3 months.
They would manage water and waste the same way as anybody else - distancing and hygiene.
My youngest nursed her two sons st the start when they had flu. She wore hospital grade N95 disposable face masks and practised hygiene.
The government has updated its guidance for people who are shielding taking into account that coronavirus COVID-19 infection rates have decreased significantly over the last few weeks. This guidance remains advisory.
People who are shielding remain vulnerable and should continue to take precautions but may now choose to leave their home, as long as they are able to maintain strict social distancing. If you choose to spend time outdoors, you may do so with members of your own household. If you live alone, you can spend time outdoors with one person from another household. Ideally, this should be the same person each time.
If you do go out, you should take extra care to minimise contact with others by keeping 2 metres apart. This guidance will be kept under regular review.
On 22 June the government set out a series of steps for further relaxing shielding guidance which will come into effect on 6 July and 1 August.
From 6 July, the government will be advising:
you may, if you wish, meet in a group of up to 6 people outdoors, including people from different households, while maintaining strict social distancing
you no longer need to observe social distancing with other members of your household1 -

My forecast told me the hot weather was due.
Why would they invest, probably many of thousands of pounds in providing portaloos (even if they could get them at short notice) not knowing what the demand would be?
They would have had no problem getting portaloos with all the festivals, venues etc cancelled. Previous experience should have told them what to expect given the forecast especially.
Mind you they appear not to have a good record with toilets : https://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/news/16212940.seafront-toilets-in-disgusting-state-on-bank-holiday/

From feeling quite buoyed up midweek that we might be packing up the Motorhome ready to hit the road again, today I’m back to thinking that’s just not going to happen. The news reports over the last couple of days are not in our favour as far as being welcomed as visitors to towns and villages.

One of the main reasons there are all these problems with crowds at holiday areas, demonstrations etc. is that they have nothing better to do. If the kids were allowed to go back to school in a covid secure way, workers allowed to go back to work in a covid secure way, ( the ones that have still got a job to go back to), then we may start getting back to something like normal. The longer the delay, the more jobs will be lost and the more misery for families. Therefore it could be argued the Government are being too slow in lifting the lockdown, rather than too quick as some would have us believe.

Not at all. I only apply basic logic. Whereas you appear expert enough to know "They would have had no problem...". Thus, I bow to the knowledge of one who appears conversant in the subject of excrement disposal.

Apparently, you're the expert in this field, not me. Any idea what the cleaning regimes would be in the present circumstances?

I think you're missing an important point here - all those folk were, technically at least, acting illegally (and I'm not suggesting for a minute that the police could have done anything about it.)
So are you saying that a local council should have colluded in this illegal action and encouraged that number of visitors (or more) to break the law. Should the councils in London or Bristol have provided portaloos for the thousands of folk who turned up for "informal raves"? Or for any of the other recent protests?
I'm pretty certain I didn't hear Boris saying this should be done when he spoke on Tuesday! And I'm equally certain the council would have been slaughtered by one minister after another if they'd done so.

I think I read somewhere they had portaloos too but the press isn't interested in sensible actions like that, drama and mayhem sells.
Meanwhile away from all this most of the country plods on with the advice being offered.
Rain will spoil play soon. 🌨

Thanks for that.
