If the change in social distancing is changed to a metre, I do hope it is from tomorrow. The reason is simple, it will happen anyway and rather than thousands of "lawbreakers" flouting the law (for a short period), without any fear of prosecution, it would be better if these people were seen to be following the law.
Constant flouting of the law with impunity, will become a mindset of a growing proportion of the population.

With the way this very new pandemic has struck and all govenments it seems "hoping?" that what they have done will work , .and our Westminster Cabinet using it seems, their own take on what their experts advise
,It is it seems only just recently that they have started to understand? how caravans and motorcaravans are already at social distancing self contained units that in reality had not any need to be still banned from overnighting on campsites when the "any distance travel" was allowed

That would make sense - there is no logic in suggesting it would be safe in a few days time but not safe tomorrow. But Boris said at the weekend the government is "sticking like glue" to its "plan". So I assume the arbitrary date of 4 July, chosen a couple of months ago will be the "release" date.,

Quite simply, whatever the (English) Govt chooses to allow, the population will have to get on with it. Individuals and/or households will have to do their own risk assessments, take their own precautions, make their own decisions around what garbled messages eventually eminate from on high.
The real losers will be the ones forced to go back to work for less caring and unscrupulous employers, who have no choice but to get back to work or risk being unable to feed their families or pay their bills.
Most folks have a choice about what Leisure pursuits they will go back to, or refrain from, and how or where they choose to do them.

The relaxation of distance travel was well over a month ago JVB. If overnight stays had been permitted at that time, it could have resulted in the movement of large numbers of people about the country and into / out of covid hot spots. Not many are going to travel 100 / 200 miles just for a day trip.

Actually I find one metre between me and another too close at the best of times, let alone now. If I can smell someone, their last meal, their cigarettes, their cannabis, their drinking habits, their awful perfume, I back off.
It’s all about cash extraction. In shops, on buses, planes, trains, cinemas, and camp sites.

Neither of us has Mikey, however for those who feel that it might be a risk then maybe they would choose to do so.
I've often seen rubber gloves worn when folk empty their cassette so its just one more thing to do if you feel vulnerable.
It's all about taking responsibility for YOUR own actions.

Not in Scotland Steve, we are still being told to stay close to home.
I agree with you though that it would have caused movement of folk at far greater distances.
We have seen a fair few MH's going up the A9 surely they can't all be local.

This could be the chance of a "nice little earner" if the automatic cassette emptying machines are rolled out on all campsites (anyone want to invest?)
They are supplied by the clubs contractor Caravan Park Electrics who are at Spilsby in Lincs

Same here in Wales, we still have a 5 mile 'leash' from home, with some leeway for rural areas, great if you have a boat, I 'could' go 4 miles out to sea, If I wanted to.
If we do go away this year, we will be using our own facilities, just need EHU, water, cassette and waste dump.

I suppose at least on a CAMC site, there won't be the problem of tracking and tracing folk. Like what might happen in a pub.

The SUN online has stated today that government is reviewing campsite/caravan park opening due to concern over shared wash facilities- announcement expected today.
So the CMHC might have to close facilities in order to open sites- if that is permitted.
Fingers crossed we an still use the club sites on 4 July

Over the lockdown we have been very cautious and it's only in the last 2 or 3 weeks that we have ventured out, first to the pharmacy and then to a garden centre. Yesterday we actually went to our local Waitrose, first time since 12th March. Car park was more than half empty and not many people inside which was encouraging and why we chose Monday afternoon. Having said all that either people have no perception of social distancing or they are just ignoring it. I am not sure that reducing it to one metre will make much difference to the majority of people as most don't get distancing or being aware that others might prefer some space. I think we will still carry on with our weekly deliveries for the time being and probably in the longer term unless COVID comes to a natural end or is cured!!!

Very much our view David. We will stick with the internet shop, plus local shopping in the village until our planned get away in September. Had an email today, from the leisure club we belong to, which is part of the Warner Hotel Group. It stated that they will not be reinstating our membership until possibly the end of the year, as they will be concentrating on hotel guests. We are actually pleased with that decision, as we weren't confident that they could put in protocols to satisfy us. Saves a bit of money and we will just keep walking in the local forest to keep fit.😀

We aren’t planning to head off on holiday anywhere until later. We are treating ourselves today though. We are on our way for a day out in MH, not too far, and fingers crossed where there will only be a few folks😁 If it works out ok, we shall treat ourselves once a week, in splendid isolation. Staying somewhere, touring around will come later, at carefully selected locations. 😁

We're doing the same just now TDA, planning another outing tomorrow. So far we haven't seen anywhere that is too busy. We are booked on two fairly local sites in late July, rural places where we can walk easily. After that a CL is on the list but I didn't want to have to cancel a CL break if the site openings are delayed etc.

Why o why are the toilet amenities a problem, supermarkets have had theirs open for while now, l visited a supermarket one on Thursday of last week, no one checking just your common sense, wash your hands, l took wipes in with me as l had to use the toilet it self wiped the seat. Seems to me that the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing. If hairdressers, food outlets, bars, and gyms are allowed to open, just doesn't make sense not to allow holiday and tourism to do the same. What a wacko world we live in

Toilets can be open if they are kept clean !!!! Somebody's having a laugh. Some folks can't even flush the toilet so who's going to police that one and run in and out of the block checking each time somebody's been in?
I've nothing planned now until the end of September.

Sorry you will always get those sort of individuals, even in early lockdown they were abusing the guidelines, its up to us to police it, l agree with you on how some individuals will never alter but now we are in a different mind set than we were before lock down, so you would hope those people will see sense. l for one wont shy away from letting someone know if they are not adhering to the guidelines, l would hope others will too
