I aways thought the price related to your age and any existing medical conditions. Therefore it would be difficult to give a standard price for the medical element until you had completed the application form and obtained a quote.

Your right about add ons ( age, medical conditions) but in the past there was a starting price list for each period of days just the need a ball park sum or even just the motoring cover

    Thanks for the interest

Steve is right. You have to get an individual quote .

You are right they used to publish a list of prices every year but it stopped a few years ago, possibly when they changed underwriter? It seems there is no longer a one price fits all. It seems also there is less flexibility medication wise. When we last tried to secure a policy it was rejected because the insulin my wife takes was not the exact same dose everyday. I would have thought logic would have prevailed as the dose has to be adjusted according to blood sugar levels!!!

For a ball park figure, we paid around £195 this year. We ended up not going because of the situation. I would expect premiums to rise for the foreseeable future.

    Hi Bob,

There is usually an option to get an on-line quote, by filling in an e-form on the RP section of The Club’s web site, but because The Club are not selling RP at the moment they have removed that option.     I used the form when I renewed in February this year.   Normally The Club send you a renewal quote when you are a few weeks from your policy end date.   If you use this renewal quote you get bonus of 5% discount.     I got a new quote because I wanted to know the price of additional days on my multi-trip policy.      However, having said all that, I still prefer to ring the RP office to confirm my quote and pay with my CC.

I claimed a refund recently on some of my unused multi-trip policy and the RP Manager informed me at that time, that they will restart selling RP soon and they had also managed to arrange some CV cover with the underwriters.    Go to the RP pages and look for the CV advice section, then keep an eye on this for updates and start dates.     Because the FCO advice is not to travel, it makes sense not to sell overseas travel insurance.

We paid £394 for upto 45 days last year, based on both over 70 and medication for hypertension. Dearer now being quoted on age.
