BF Vouchers?
After having cancelled our June French trip in late May I was assured of BF Vouchers for two years.
Just wondering if anyone has actually received a voucher yet?
May be expecting too much in the circumstances but lockdown plays havoc with the sense of 'time'.

Do you mean you took the decision to cancel, or the ferry company took the decision? There will no doubt be different terms and conditions for each case.
And there seem to be different responses whether you booked through the Club or whether you booked directly with the ferry company.
But either way it's time now to contact which one of those two booking offices you used. Good luck.

The Club employee who took my cancellation call told me that it might be up to two months before I received my voucher but I would receive an email confirming the cancellation within half an hour and to note the time of the phone call as all calls were recorded and would be the evidence that she had told me of the voucher if I felt that I needed it.

I booked a Brittany Ferries crossing through the CAMC. I repeatedly turned down their offer of a two-year voucher, quoted both UK and French law to them and last week received a full refund from the club. They have to obey the law and shouldn't be fobbing people off with voucher offers.

But some people who booked directly with Brittany Ferries were happy to accept vouchers because they included a 20% discount on a future crossing to France or 15% discount to Spain. A cash refund was not always the best deal.

Sorry, I should have made clear that my booking was for late August and I chose to cancel i.e. it was not on Government advice not to travel etc. It was nearly time to pay the balance and I would have rather lost the £50+ deposit altogether than pay in full and take a chance on what happened. I knew that whatever rules were in place at the time we would not be going.

Vouchers are only a good idea if you can use guarantee to use them within the allotted time. For example a broken leg may stop you from touring abroad for quite a number of months.
You also have to have confidence that the Company does not go bankrupt in the meantime. I will accept that it is unlikely than BF would go bankrupt but airlines are probably in a more dicey predicament. We insisted on a cash refund from TUI as keeping our very substantial amount ( a milestone holiday at the time) meant that we would have had to take at least 2 holidays within the limited time frame and would have affected our long haul plans for next year.

Yup, but i did not cxl BF cxld, my sailing was for outbound April which was a non flexi ticket and inbound 22 June 2020 which is a flexi ticket. So received voucher for April ticket valid for 2 years and 20 pct discount if rebooked before end of july 2020 which i have done, and changed my inbound june sailing to November 2020.
Using the voucher + 20 pct discount, have booked Portsmouth/Caen for September 2020 on a flexi ticket and Caen/Portsmouth for November 2020 also flexi ticket, if i dont go will change to sometime in 2021, thought it was a brilliant deal and as i dealt direct with BF did all on line no hassle.

Well done Rufs. You played your cards well.

Hi David, can I ask date and ferry company please. If I think it is the same circumstances I will go back and fight a bit harder.

Like Rufs we had a single Bilbao ferry out in April direct booked with BF, also a single home bound in June from Caen but on a flexi ticket.
We have moved the Flexi booking to September and we were given a voucher for the Bilbao crossing valid for 2 years.
I haven't done anything yet with the voucher but does anyone know if I use it for a crossing to France which will be cheaper than the Bilbao crossing
will BF credit me back the difference or
offer me another voucher for the difference or
do I lose the difference?

I would phone a friend, e.g. BF and as you booked direct this should not be too difficult,
a way out if you are planning Spain next year, maybe to keep your flexi ticket for Bilbao and book new ticket to France possibly only £250 approx, maybe better option than run risk of loosing price of ticket to Bilbao

@SG If you have a login for BF you will find your voucher in your Account.
@TG I think if you book a sailing for less cost than your voucher you will get the balance, perhaps as a new voucher. See here, 2nd question: BF Questions & Answers

I have been thinking of using the Bilbao voucher for next Spring to Spain and bumping the flexi to next spring to for the return crossing from France. Pretty much the same as we had booked this year.
However I do like to know my options we might not want to go to Spain next Spring need to decide something soon as we will have the balance to pay on the flexi ticket in the next couple of weeks. Might just bump that forward a bit not sure that I fancy a ferry crossing just yet. If I bump it forward then if we fancy going to France in Sept/October we could always take the chunnel decisions, decisions.

Sorry but are we are cross purposes? I thought earlier you said that you had cancelled your North Sea Crossing last week?

Update!
Received from CAMC email confirmation of my refund of sites and RFlag (they were already in my bank account)
plus confirmation of my 24month BF vouchers.
