I have an Alko bike carrier fitted to my motorhome.  I want to get an additional holding bar and they come in 3 sizes 400mm, 600mm & 800mm.  In the UK you cannot buy direct from Alko but have to go through a dealer.  For the 400mm bar I have been quoted £51 plus £14.50 postage coming direct from Alko.

An internet search took me to the Alko site in Germany where you can buy direct and they deliver, but only within Germany.  The 400mm bar is advertised at 30 Euro which equates to £28.  

Not sure why they would want to charge twice as much in the UK as they do on the continent -other than profiteering.

    Would the Fiamma ones do the same job? If so have a look at John Cross Motorhomes.

    Thanks David -  the Pro D1 looks a contender - less than half Al-Ko price even including delivery.

    Asked Al-Ko UK what the price difference.  Surprisingly they responded with “No Comment”.
