Thank you. You would think something could be done. The attitude of the Club is one of complete inflexibility, which is why I’m bringing it to people’s attention.
The situation is changing with golf aand tennis clubs now open and travel not prohibited any longer. It’s incredibly frustrating that the CAMC will not budge.

What would concern me if our MH was in a club storage compound, is any potential insurance implications in the event of theft or damage. The section in italics below is an extract from Rowenas reply on the sites closure and storage thread.
Our site staff, whilst remaining on site and checking the compounds to give an element of security, are currently furloughed to protect the Club for the future, which means they are not currently working and are unable to grant access to the storage area.
If they are furloughed, how can they be checking the compound. Surely that counts as work?

Others, in the Topic I started and which was locked, have questioned whether the CAMC are truly furloughing staff or using site staff in an employed capacity. Someone suggested that the toilets are being cleaned and grass cut.
Hundreds of Club members must be being affected by the continued closure of storage sites. Many may be relaxed at not getting to their units. Personally, as restrictions have eased considerably, i’m Outraged at what is tantamount to the practical confiscation of my property.

Perhaps some of the staff who work on sites where there is storage are indeed working because some of these sites are also providing emergency pitches for those who have nowhere to live at present except in their vans. There could be variations on this theme due to present government regs and insurance with a ban on access to storage areas due to less staff being available?

For sure, not all wardens have been furloughed. Some are working on site maintenance, facility block cleaning and so on.

There seems to be a few sites which are being kept open for the otherwise "homeless" members, such as full timers, so I would expect staff on those sites are not, or at least not all of them, furloughed.
Where a site is closed, if the grass is not maintained It would be a massive job to get it back in shape, so either outside contractors are being employed, or one warden must be still being paid.
If the latter is the case, on a site with storage I would have thought an appointment could be arranged should someone need to check or even remove their outfit.

Took my motorhome for a run today, just to keep everything moving. Went past a Farm shop, car park nearly full, went past the local tip, cars queuing to dump rubbish, plenty of people out and about with quite a bit of traffic, even saw another motorhome heading in the opposite direction!
I will be very surprised if cases of the virus infection don't increase.

Taking the motorhome for a run is far less hazardous than going shopping for groceries. I just went round in a large circle of about 6/8 miles on local roads. got in the vehicle on the drive and didn't alight until back in the drive. I'm now going to wash it.

Ithink it is expected that infection rates will rise as the lockdown is eased, but the government's plan is to keep infection rates below what the NHS can cope with. If infection rates start to rise too fast the lockdown controls will be reintroduced.

Lockdown doesn't seem to be very apparent around here. My motorhome had been idle on the drive since mid March, not good for it at all. I did run the engine for about 15 minutes a couple of weeks ago but that is not as good as a run out.
Local garden centre is open and I had an email to say the garage that services my car had re-opened.

I also had an email from our garage to say they were open for servicing, MOTs and repairs - they seem to have forgotten they had it in the day before the lockdown started and don't realise it's done all of about 20 miles since then!

Looks like some sort of Virus has hit this thread by the amount of posts that have been removed.
I've been wondering about our MOT and Service and thought that there might be a bit of a rush once the the "Grace" period is withdrawn so have just booked ours in for one at the beginning of August. Normally would wait but this virus has knocked all timing and normality into a cocked hat.
Any news on that "grace period" for MOTs?

I've never been much of a fan of working from home, I believe it can be to open to abuse. However, at the present time it is so necessary for some. An ex colleague emailed to say she was working at home in the company of her dog and cat. The view from her study looks across her horse's field and Exmoor. She is in no rush to go back to the office, says she gets more done at home. I'm guessing that if this is ever over a lot more people will realise this can be done and will wish to continue with their new way of working.

That could happen to our car.
Our MH was due 1st May and is now shown as expiring on 30th Oct according to the checker. Why not 31st? 🤷🏻♂️

Just tried phoning where I take my XTrail. It was booked in for a service and MOT on the 2nd April. Still just the recording about servicing essential workers only, so I guess I will have to wait a while yet.
As to MOT the government site says mine has been extended to October. A full 6 months from when it should have run out.

Where our van is stored it is a one couple run site and they are also i understand about a third full with "sheltered" LV members , to access storage apart from opening and closing the gates in the morning and at night , the staff need no more interaction with members in storage as it is all accessed by card on both sets of barriers

Been shopping at Morrison's at Southport and it was fairly quiet. Had a walk first on seafront which was almost empty of people.
On way back to Morrison's passed Pleasure land Caravan Park (car park) which was locked but had 8 motorhomes and a caravan on site and all looked occupied. I assume they are all full timers with nowhere else to go as they are in such a prominent position with two police cars passing on the adjacent road as we were walking.
Could not see if any other full timers were on nearby CAMC site.
On way home saw two motorhomes on road for first time in weeks but maybe they were going shopping as well.
On car servicing mine due last week but only garage owner working part-time and having trouble getting parts as his suppliers both closed so asked to give him a ring at end of month.

P, I cycled past a farm shop yesterday...car park empty..
i took my hedge cuttings to the tip on Wednesday (even numbered reg numbers) and despite many warnings to traffic about potential long queues, i was about fifth and had to wait all of ten mins....4 cars at a time allowed.....today, i couldn't see any at all in the queue...
i also saw a MH on the road yesterday..
generally, traffic pretty quiet here still.
case numbers still too high, although London now has an R of 0.4 i heard this morning.
deaths still falling, thank goodness.

Scary the R number going up. After seeing the picture of the queues outside the Starbucks in Leeds yesterday, the last B/H and the VE celebrations I fear for where we are heading in the next 2/3 weeks. Will all the good isolating be a waste of time?
