Don't think your common sense is a threat or issue to our communities, societies or neighbourhood. I am not worried about me either. I'm sure you are sensible, I trust my judgements too.

My issue is our so called leadership. No more no less, and how they have gone about things since last Saturday. Unfortunately, and it's clearly obvious for all to see, some 'adults' really do need 'nannying' to protect themselves and to protect us against them?

I also think Piers Morgan is doing a dammed good job of questioning things!

Some friends on the phone this morning were saying that as from today we/they can now drive anywhere? can we meet up at Ferry Meadows (Nene Park) 63miles from us and them ,,Shall we contact those in Northampton as wellundecided

And there was an earlier post on here , also about now visiting friends this weekendsurprised

Their bladders will get the message when they find there are no facilities. It's just a cunning plan to make people realise there are still limits. wink

That is oh so true, some will also stop reading as it will prick their conscience and spoil their nice day out no matter how succinct and brief it is!

May be the message coming across was that those 'seeming sensible' folk, the 'they', the irresponsible, still walk amongst us. After all, how many of us read that huge document the government provided and that was full of confusion, conflict and anomalies. I did! And regarding common sense, this CMRT statement was shorter and far more illustrative for those caring to read it.

Mickysf , I was more interested in reading it than counting the words . Certainly puts into perspective the unnecessary risks the MRT would have to take for someone else's mindless pleasure .Well done .

I think the point is being missed or evaded. It's the consequences of confusing and conflicting leadership that's the problem. For those of us living in National parks, by the seaside, near beauty spots watch the local news tonight and over the weekend. I'm sure many examples of 'them' and their interpretation of the guidance will be forth coming.

That’s possibly still a hefty a word count for too large a percentage of UK population, certainly those for whom the message is intended. Possibly why “stay home, save lives” worked quite well. Don’t forget Twitter only allows you 40 characters, and the me generation prefers it’s news no longer than 60 seconds and not too much reality included😂

I've read it all the way through and I can tell you it has worked on me. I will never climb a mountain again. It frightened me to death.

No evasion Micky try this-I think the Govt & all its agencies are doing great, their info/actions suits me fine. The ‘they walk amongst us’ types you refer to are not my concern they will infect other ‘they walk amongst us’ types Poetic justice. I suit & boot to the max👍🏻. We will never agree, we rarely do😊. It is what it is. Have a good one.

And no community can isolate forever either.

Obviously people want to protect themselves from the virus, and keeping “outsiders” away from their town / village / country may well achieve this.

But sooner or later, those same people might just want to venture outside their locality themselves . For a holiday, maybe.

How can people be sure they won’t come into contact with the virus if they do? And bring it back home with them.
This virus isn’t going away, and there’s no easy solution to how to deal with it.

    Stay safe. 🙂

Perhaps they should have just said " We have some of the worst infection rates in the country in Cumbria ". This may have kept more of the anticipated visitors away.

Thanks rocky, I will. I too, like you thought they were doing a good job but then it went pear shaped last weekend in my opinion, just confusion,  lack of clarity and conflicting messages spoiled it. Thes 'issues' have been very well articulated, documented and reported as we well know and open to a whole spectrum of differing interpretation. And still it goes on!

Another David. Mountain rescuer do it voluntarily. They are laymen in other jobs. Be thankful they are there. My father was one on Cader Idris, and you could not make up some of the stupidity he saw. Some ungrateful sods out there and if the cap fits wear it.

It is a very infomative real life type of scenario ,That if by trying to condense,  it would have taken away the real meaning of what their  rescue could and probably would in these times involve, and by giving it to some "word smith"?,will without dought  take away the real emphasis of what is very thought provoking  ,i would think to most anywayundecided

Sadly there is every likelihood a vaccine won’t be available for 12/18 months yet.  Even then no one knows if, or how, effective that will be.  The country and communities will have to get used to the idea that ‘lockdown’ will not last forever and we will need to get back to something like normality, which will include people from outside regions mixing with others.  I really, really, hope this will be done sensibly by all and I think common sense will prevail.

But the supermarket staff will be thinking that they have had no option but to mingle with thousands of the great unwashed every day of lock-down .... not just 2 climbers that they have a chance of screening against. I've just spent 2 days working in closer proximity to others than I would normally want to ... I don't think a small surgical type mask would make much difference

Probably why there are so many posts Querying anything that involves the poster, but hopes some one else will understand it for them ,  as it seems these days , "simple terms""wink
