Spain "off the cards"
There is an article on Google posted by the "Mirror" five hours ago discussing various EU Countries likely attitude to tourism and the future. One statement from a Spanish commentator is that holidays by UK Citizens to Spain is probably off the cards this year. Whether this is just hype is anyone`s guess I saw the other day the German Government has said Germans will not be allowed to go to Spain this summer. When the spreadsheets come out attitudes may change of course.

I was told this morning by the owner of the site our RV is on in southern Murcia that it will be September before the Spanish govt. will consider us foreigners to their shores. That all depends on how the lockdown easing goes over the coming months.

The Canaries have published their gradual release from lockdown starting May 4th through to June the 8th.
They have also said that after that it will be inter island folk first, then mainland Spain and sometime around October/November they are hoping to open it up to International holiday makers.

lots of conflicting reports coming out of Spain, my daughter lives in Villa Martin and she told me yesterday that although some lock down restrictions will be lifted on the 10th May, they will only be allowed out of their apartment early morning and early evening to exercise, apart from essential shopping and walking the dog 100 mtrs from the apartment they have not been out of the apartment since early March, she is a teacher and is doing online tuition. One of her friends has just been fined €450 for breaking the lock down rules.
The Olive Press is reporting that areas such as Andulicia are reporting no new cases and are looking at ways to open up, but not for overseas visitors, they are pretty much resigned to the fact that there will be no tourist trade this year.I wonder how this is going to affect camp sites in Spain that normally start to see an influx of, particularly German /Dutch campers bedding down for the winter, starting September and beyond

Regardless of any future permissions from all our great leaders ....
Have read reports on Olive Press & others that in many areas the Spanish Tourist Trade (Hotels) in lots or areas are un-likely to re-open this year from their Winter shutdown due to costs involved, employing and bringing in their seasonal staff and un-certainty of future Visitors & Flights operating. Hence some Resorts will be likely desolate regardless of any permissions. Can totally understand the issue with resorts & Hotels.
This situation may suit some though on Campsites and wouldn't stop us overwintering again 2021 (if allowed).
Strange times ahead.

OH's sister and BIL have been in Spain since the 24th of February and have had 5 flights cancelled up to now. They have their own apartment in La Cala, near the coast down from Mijas. Today they could go for a walk for the first time; as they are over 70 they can go out between 10-12 in the morning and again between 6-7pm. It appears there are different times for different age groups. Not sure if each region has different "rules" as well, I think they may have, but not sure about that.
