Hi BB, Following you previous comments, in this thread, about people being ‘holier than thou’ etc I presume you know the car occupants and Grandad are in breach of the guidance? This is a genuine question as on an almost daily basis I see people that could be in breach but I don’t know for certain.Today as I drove to my Mother In Laws saw quite a number of groups of people and several cars parked irresponsibly, due to car parks being closed, but no point giving it a second thought as the guidance re raising issues of breaches does not consider this an issue-and how do I, or anyone else know they are in breach anyway?
One of our Grandsons is with us, and has been for the last five and a half week, but as he is 6ft 4in and 16 stone will not be offering a piggy back.

It seems he may well have had a Damascene-conversion since his illness. Whilst I will believe it when I see it we all have moments in our lives when things no longer seem the same as they once were. How long that lasts for we have yet to see.

youre right, i did mention HTT comments (not unlike those we get regularly about site speeding, not parked to the peg, arriving early etc) where im sure all those 'Holy' posters 'couldn't possibly have'.
however, being smartly reminded that there are no HTT comments in this thread (even like the ones i posted upthread) i though id stick my two penneth in, admitting in the post that i was posting anecdotal info.
having seen half a dozen family filled cars, it would make you think, wouldnt it...
the grand child in question was pretty small....and may be in the care of his grandparents for all i know...but once you start to 'tune in' it seems there are lots of folk that 'give reason to question'.
...and if the case numbers dont fall away soon enough and the lifting of restrictions arent forthcoming, folk will certainly question why 'that car' can drive around with all seats occupied...and i cant

Actually, BB, I didn't tell you "there are no HTT comments" - this is what I said -

Again, it's just my opinion - you may consider them HTT, I see them as varying views. We just disagree - it happens!

If the amount of vehicles that are "missing" from this road yesterday and today,are all on "essential"trips they have been out for ages ,and it did not need to curtain twitch, as the route from our house to open country, means passing the cars that have been parked up all week and the "families"quite large? having picnics in the countryside
which seems to prove the that even with "selfish idiots" that "they live and walk amongst us"
So i would think some very tough decitions before any easing of what we have now

Hi BB, Yes it would........and did. So, having seen several groups of people and over 20 parked cars along the cliff top, pondered what I should do.The NFCC guidance says that if the walk lasts longer than the driving that’s OK.
The Chief Constable of D&C Police says the guidance is “the worst I have seen for some time and will lead to people travelling to our area”.
The Police UK website says;
Please make sure you've read and understand the guidance on the 'stay at homeExternal Link' measures.
Only tell us about something if you feel there is a significant issue or serious breach of the restrictions.
In light of the very mixed messages I think it’s not just the public that need to read and understand the guidance.

Indeed a ridiculous bit of guidance. On that basis it would be OK for us to drive to the Chatsworth area, about 50 minutes each way, as long as we did a 4 hour walk.🤔 Even if one stuck to the permitted hour for exercise, mentioned on occasion. That would still allow for a significant journey.

Regarding petty infringements of the-‘are they or aren’t they in breach of rules’ I worry about me & mine to ensure safety not others. I give all folk a wide berth not moan when they get too close. . .They don’t get a chance to get within spitting distance👍🏻

We're booking nothing until we are sure it's safe, first based on Government guidance then our own risk assessment. However we do have some plans from before this started, which include a cl mid July and Twinwood at the end of August and we're just waiting to see what happens. I've also cancelled the three weeks off work in July and booked two weeks in September, but again we'll see what happens before making any arrangements

I have recently read that the Royal & Ancient are discussing with Government how to restart playing golf. I hope the CC is doing the same for caravanning.
To social distance on Club sites we could
1.use every other pitch,
2. close toilet blocks,
3. pay online,
4. have a Perspex screen in reception
5. have hand sanitisers at water and waste points
Of course the site fee would reflect the lack of facilities, but at least the Club would be generating income, and we could go off in our caravan.
The same criteria could be applied to Cls

agree with that, but surely no need to have every other pitch? with 3m between adjacent parts of outfits that should be enough?

It would hardly make for a relaxing break, would it, DE?
Then you have to consider local people you might meet as well in shops and so on. It’s not all about us but also about the general public.

This arrangement may be ok for those that just want to stay on site but for those like me who go away to visit seaside resorts or market towns, I can’t see the point in going away until we can eat and drink out.
“July onwards” is a bit optimistic IMHO.

Or option 6 , we wait until the time is right ,when it will be as safe as it can be , to go out and visit shops and places of interest, and not putting others at risk due to being impatient..
i would love to go away ,but I’m not dying to go away
