To cancel or not to cancel..
Can anyone tell me the cost of cancellation of our overnight ferry to St. Malo from Portsmouth in May? We have only the deposit at stake right now.
We have tried all week to get through to both the club and Brittany ferries to no avail. Should we pay up the balance and risk losing it all is the dilemma.

What terms did you book it under as BF operate 3 different price ranges and each have different terms?
If you booked with a Standard fare then you'll be charged 50% of the fare. If Flexi then 25%. If you booked basic then you may lose all of it.
You could just transfer the bookings to another ferry at a later date, even defer it until next year. If you do it online then you won't be charged a fee but will if you ring BF.
I'm assuming you booked direct with BF.
If with the club then I don't know what they are doing.

As there is abou a zero chance of you actually being able to use that ferry I would certainly not pay any more money at least without speaking to the club?

this is about the 3rd post on this subject, best to do nothing, ferry not likely to sail so BF will cancel automatically and give you a voucher valid for 2 years for whatever money your deposit was, if you cancel you will lose your deposit, you should also get a voucher for a 20 pct reduction in your next booking provided you make the booking before the end of july 2020.
If you booked through the club good luck as non of the before might not apply.

to quote Martin Lewis if you don't pay your balance then you have broken your contract and you won't get back your deposit,
if you pay then when the ferry cancels you are entitled to a full refund,
so I would pay then claim a full refund when the ferry canceles
