Eurotunnel still running
Any body have any idea why the euro tunnel is still operating when the border between the UK and Europe is closed . Is it because if they still operate then the won't have to do refunds. I am a frequent traveler with 5 journeys left . They expire in August so it is unlikely that i will be able to use them before they expire.

You’d best ask Euro Tunnel but repatriation is still allowed to the best of my knowledge. Some of our members have been very glad to use the Tunnel recently.

EU Law requires free passage across Member States to allow travellers to reach their country of residence. You'd need a ticket for your crossing, and your declaration of purpose of travel for each day of travel and for each member of your party.

The border isn't closed. All the ferry companies including P&O, Stena and Brittany Ferries are carrying freight in both directions, as is the tunnel.

Hi, As euror says sea, and air, freight is still moving which for me makes it harder to understand why the Cornish fishing industries exports have seemingly collapsed. I can only presume that the difficulties make it too hard/expensive to sustain.
We use local suppliers for our fish and it has always been a puzzle that I can buy UK caught seafood cheaper in say France than I can at home where its caught.

Tesco as part of "local produce" sold in their stores in this area were selling local fresh chicken pieces, one bit of info that was missed off the label was that it had been via Scotland for processing as it was cheaper than having it done locally
It could well be the same for many "local" products ie "Cornish" fish but from a French trawler

Hi, If it was from a French trawler it would not be an 'export'. Figures show that 70-75% of UK caught seafood goes to the EU.
