Where Do People Want To Go After Lockdown?
Hi all,
Just thought I would post something a little lighter amongst all the doom and gloom you see on the news these days! Where does everyone want to go after the travel restrictions are lifted? Would love to camp up in one of the Western Isles, if we're able to get out there this Summer. Islay or Mull would be amazing in this Spring weather!
What's everyone else's thoughts?

Mull is beautiful.
We had a week trip to Scotland planned for June, which will now have to wait until next year.
We've got a trip to the Lake District booked for mid September and I'm really hoping we can go. I know I'm being wildly optimistic but it's making the current situation more bearable 😊

New Forest, Sandringham, Bridlington, ETC not enough time to write them all down, just hoping we can get somewhere before summer ends Autumn is already booked. Winter York booked for November fingers crossed, everytime we have got in they have closed it. One place l wont be going is China.

We won't be going to a place called nowhere, that's for sure, so could well meet up with you at anywhere, providing of course that it's the same spot.

To wander into any location without checking for 2 metres space, without listening for a sniffle or a cough, and without a mention of either the latest infection rates or the disappointing weather. Oh, to swap apprehension for gay abandon!

Don't know much about Portsmouth, David, but we used to live in Hull and it's a much underrated city. Some lovely parks, historic monuments (Wilberforce is the best), lots of attractions in the redeveloved city centre (The Deep for one), authentic olde worlde pubs down in the Land of Green Ginger. Also easy to get to other attractions like Beverly, Spurn Point and the Wolds Way footpath.
Good choice David, but I'm a bit surprised that you're heading there!

Unsurprisingly it'll be Cornwall first for us. But we had a couple of cottage breaks booked, one in the Peak District and one in the Forest of Bowland. They've both been rearranged for next year now. But when we're allowed to travel again we might still head to one of those areas (or the Lakes, or Yorkshire or .....!
)We have a holiday in Greece booked for October but who knows when that sort of holiday will get back to normal?

Portsmouth also has its attractions.....
actually, not to do Portsmouth down, ive spent many a happy hour cycling and walking around Portsea island....its actually very nice...

Weather has been great up here since lockdown started. We were supposed to have a bit of rain last night, but no sign. Someone is sending us a cool breeze this morning though, but it’s still bright, if lacking a touch of sunshine. Might be a quick CL plus Garden room for Mum and Sister for us, up on North York Moors.

Where do we want to go after lock down? Well until January we had thought about going over to Brittany from Plymouth (another port to consider if you don't like Hull or Portsmouth!?) Then our new dog arrived so we'll just be glad to go anywhere, see if she travels ok in the van and probably not go further than Devon.

I am not planning anything right now. It is alright for the retired, but the impression I am getting is that the working population which has been laid off are unlikely to get any holidays this year either because of limited funds or because the companies which have kept workers on furlough at full or near full pay expect them not to take holidays until next year..
Combine this with many being cautious about socialising until there is a vaccine available and site occupancy could be quite low until summer 2021.

We shall be cautious. CLs for us, main activity will be just driving to somewhere nice to walk (or swim), picnic in MH, avoid contact with others as much as possible. Not too far from home initially. And carefully checking out each area before we venture. Definitely no public transport of any kind to be involved. It will still be very enjoyable. 😁

My abiding memory of beautiful Mull is 40 years ago, a bit overweight but seven months pregnant, I was approached by an elderly man who demanded to know 'if you are that fat woman I was talking to last night'. He proceeded to list all the bad things that had happened in the country in the last couple of years. Why he chose me or the subject is a complete mystery.
Just put this in as the Op said it was a light hearted post.
