Were you on Fourways?   We were there last week (left Sunday) and I did think to myself once the closures were announced that there were a few of you on there who would be affected, but in particular you as we could see you were from Spain.

I hope you’ve got sorted and CMC were able to help - good luck getting back to Spain xx

    Police?

Sorry, haven’t seen any police anywhere near here for a couple of years, at least.

    🤔

I have actually had a lovely day, picked up a few meds this morning, nice chat with one or two others at a distance, nice bit of exercise walking, back and into garden, hello through hedge to a neighbour, lots of sunshine, it’s been t shirts here, then as it dropped dark, turned very cold, so I lit a garden burner bonfire. Late dinner and catching up on news. Personally, I am pleased that things have ramped up, it needs it. Give common sense a chance now, and let’s help each other as much as we can😁

All I did was correct a factually incorrect post by TG. There is enough fake news about isn't there?

CS, my post was not fake news or factually incorrect, as pointed out by others, I may at the time of posting have got 1 word wrong but the gist of the statement by the MRT on the interview I heard was that he was not going to put the lives of the team at risk because of folk not taking due care and following what had been 'asked' by the PM for folk to "stay at home" you can try and belittle me as much as you like. That does not make me look silly in any way but it does not make you look clever either.

Now the people have been "told" to stay at home hopefully the message will hit home, I will not hold my breath though, there are some that just like to take the p---

martynemail, I'm sorry you find yourself in this situation, I will not criticise you as others have done.

Over in Spain there are many of our country men and women in the same situation as yourself.

These are unprecedented times and a little bit of human kindness is what is required.

I truly hope you find somewhere safe (given your reg plate) and are able to make your way back to Spain at some stage.

Tammy, whatever CS or anyone else posts on this forum  doesn’t matter for one minute.

Just ignore them, it really isn’t worth getting bothered about.

Stay safe, that’s all that matters.

    🙂

Wifey has just reported in following her briefing this evening, bless, she just wanted to say g’night.

Expect the current rules outlined tonight to only last a few days. With a further rise in cases and sadly deaths, we’ll be in a position more like France soon.

Nobody allowed out from home unless heading to a distinct place of work, obvious list including, medical, food supplies, transport etc. Everyone else will be allowed out for a maximum of something like 15 minutes per day and no further than a set number of meters from your house. It’s 400 meters in France.

After the Bill passes by Thursday night, Police will have new powers to enforce this, including arrest, detaining.

Tonights measures are prepping the nation for what is yet to come

..but is this what allowed today?....

i, too, could potter about outside as i did yesterday, finish cleaning the van, wash the car (though going nowhere, they both need it), clean and service the bikes after months away, mow the lawn, clean the windows, play table tennis, sort the garage (but cant take the unwanted stuff away), G&T later if the sun returns again like last evening....

but is this....remaining in your home?

not sure if this is what BJ meant, or is it....to get as much normality out of an abnormal situation yet obeying distancing rules?

what if you have a couple of acres (or thousands of acres).....can you whizz around on the 4x4, check on the livestock?...my brother has sheep and horses?

our wide hedge needs cutting....inside and top easy from inside the property, to do the outside id be on the pavement outside?

garden fence blew down whilst in Spain, agreed quote with local chap yesterday....will it get fixed?.....can he do his (essential to us....and our neighbour with a dog) job? ....if 2 mtr away....??

we dont 'gather' but many folk (incl dog walkers) pass the property, can i stay 2m inside my place while we exchange pleasantries as they pass with pooch....?

is the 'home' four walls or your 'estate'.....might be mucho difference...

we will do our 'exercise' ....probably combine the walk or cycle bit with the essential shopping....yesterday just one of us went inside Aldi..took the long way there via the Levels on bikes and saw no one other than a couple of cars....how long can the exercise last.....3 miles, 30 miles?

we're lucky we have the Polden Way just a few hundred yards away and giving others (exercising) a wide berth 'should' be able to retain some semblance of a (sort of) normal day's activity....but not as easy for many.

good luck all.....shame, finished the jigsaw yesterday....

I think it’s a threat they hope will be enough to calm the folk that are having virus partys 👍🏻. If the old bill arrest all transgressors, put em in a holding area in the cheek by jowl cells as a way of stopping them fraternising & being cheek by jowl ‘in the wild’ it will fail miserably. It shows that we are in crazy territory-frighteningly so🤷🏻‍♂️

PS-no need to arrest me. . .Im totally on message👍🏻

I think it is the 2 meters (or more) that is important and should be adhered to no matter what you are doing (house hold members excuded), and the outside part of one's home has to be maintained, grass cutting included.

It's all to do with common sense, if everyone is out cutting grass or washing cars at the same time then that is not a good idea.

There is no limit as yet as to the distance one can exercise?

The Caravan Club did what they have now officially been told to do .... close! Don't know if this helps from a Gov guidance web page.

Caravan parks/sites for commercial uses : Where people live permanently in caravan parks or are staying in caravan parks as
interim abodes where their primary residence is not available, they may
    continue to do so.

Looking over various groups and pages on Facebook, it is amazing how many are coming up with suggestions as to how they can push the Governments latest advice to the absolute limit. Some people are finding it very hard to understand the stay at home message, with the few concessions that have been suggested to try and relive the confinement.
Full on curfew coming as seen in France, Spain & Italy

it is very difficult for some, my son-in-law is a doctor on front line services in london, my daughter is a practise nurse on front line services in Portsmouth, 3 gkids currently in school, but they have a dog that i walk for them when both away, they live 5 miles away, am i still allowed to drive round and walk dog, or do i leave it indoors for8 hours, I also have my own down to walk, OH has gone to live with Mum in law 93 blind, 100 miles away , not moaning we will survive , just trying to explain how difficult it is sometimes to interpret the rules
