Pot calling kettle, methinks.
Why do you think the Govt request to avoid social gatherings, pubs, clubs, restaurants doesn't apply to you? 🤔
Edit: Sorry, pot calling kettle was the wrong phrase as it implies both parties are guilty which they are not. The arrogant idiot remark applies solely to the poster who used it. Apologies, TDA.

Not just me as I have posted before our local is full of like minded people. From my last post a couple of days ago this the first time I have looked in on this forum and the posts are just repeating themselves and anyone who doesn't do what you do is labelled arrogant, selfish and stupid. All I am saying is people round here are getting on with living

All going well in the lambing. I agree that my comments and language can be a bit forthright, but it is as it is. Swine disease came from China. The foot and mouth from Brazil beef fed to the army on the cheap. First outbreaks near Army camps in Brecon and Catterick.

It's nothing to do with with "anyone who doesn't do what you do is labelled arrogant, selfish and stupid."
It's about respect and consideration for others. Are you not aware that, by going out and about, and in your own words "getting on with living", you may condemn others to not be able to carry on living?
As I said in an earlier post, surely this is a wind-up, but sadly, it's clear that it isn't.

I do think that the club should have a Coronavirus information section clearly visible on the home page of the web site, this can be updated as the situation develops. I have just opened up the site and can not find anything about it, not even a link, I would have thought that was an obvious thing to do to keep us updated about what is happening from the clubs position.

Thank goodness I don’t live in Lincolnshire!
It's not about me, btw, there are a number of us attempting to instil common sense into others.

It's quite well hidden, BS, and not always up to date.

I have a great deal of sympathy ET for drug users and alcoholics, it is indeed an addiction, and as you say many are based in life circumstances that get beyond a choice and the underlying causes are varied and well documented.
But a huge number are not, and it is a life style choice for some, if they can afford the substances and lack the depth of control. The weekend p*ssheads brawling after Happy Hours, the silly over the top Hen and Stag Do’s, Etc.......
I would love to see those who really really need the help get everything they need to break the cycle, and have the quality of life to sustain giving up that dependency. But away from A&E. Social drinking is a choice, but it’s a dangerous one for those who lack the understanding of the effects it can have on themselves, their families and society as a whole. It’s a huge drain on NHS resources. The occasional imbibe ott is perfectly reasonable. Every weekend is something different.

Well put, InaD. The inconsiderate people who want to carry on as normal in the current situation will probably be the first to scream for help when the fertiliser hits the spinner. They may think differently when they are the the ones put at risk by the unnecessary actions of others. Some views are truly staggering.

Or from another angle forcing your opinion on others

Both Club’s have a Coronavirus update banner on their home webpage. Instead of coming into forum, just type in “Caravan Club” and your browser will take you to Homepage. It’s long winded if you are already in forum.

You can twist it any way you want. Still you carry on but please note the contents of my post to InaD.

Well I seldom comment on Moderation, but it’s very selective in this thread, and I shall be emailing HQ. I remained polite and tried to explain my reasons for posting as I did. Clearly I have upset someone with the power to randomly erase.

I suspected that to be the case TDA. I am acutely aware as I have witnessed and successfully helped, along with other friends, somebody who attempted suicide (no drugs or alcohol involved) and Been involved with others addicted to drugs or alcohol. I myself was helped when I had depression and was a functioning alcoholic for a period of time and know how terrible these things are.

I got my second reply yesterday, Brue, which is probably what you've got.
I've ignored the meaningless drivel.

To get back to the gist of my OP i have had an email from Waterfoot Park in the Lakes. They are closing their touring pitches immediately. Given the fast moving situation and exponential escalation in cases and fatalities I no longer see the Club being able to keep sites open beyond the weekend. As much as i would like to go away at Easter and beyond it is probably not wise especially given i am potentially in an at risk health group (IBD/Crohns).

Of course ET, you knew where I was coming from. 😊

I have just tried to cancel a booking for next month at a private site on the East coast of Suffolk (one that we use regularly), the fees are paid in full before arrival as we have done but they will only pay 50% refund. When I queried this I was just told that this is 'the terns and conditions' Don't they know there is a war on!!!. I could re-book but who can we tell what the situation will be in 3-6 months time. Thank goodness for the CMC booking system.

If you use the site regularly, and therefore i presume you may know the owners, did you not ask for a credit so that you can revisit when we have won the war, for some businesses during these troubled times, handing out refunds can mean that their cash reserves completely dry up and the next time you want to use the site it may not be there.
