Hey
the local greeting and farewell here is now "mantente segura y cuidate" which basically means stay safe and take care.

To get back to my OP there are reliably sourced rumours on a number of news channels that London will be in lock-down in the next few days, possibly as soon as tomorrow evening. Tube stations and services are already being closed down in anticipation... That will possibly close down the clubs sites in that part of the world.

But if businesses just close down for weeks or even months on end they will have no business to open at the end

Some businesses will have no choice eventually. Their is a pub that we occasionally use every couple of weeks for a meal. Their main income is from serving food at lunch and dinner. As trade drops off their only option will be to gradually sign staff off as it becomes uneconomic to employ. It does not mean that there will be no business to come back to. It depends on things such as business rate holiday and maybe loan interest holiday/reduction etc. WE are only just beginning

I don't think it will be long before the CAMC reaches the same conclusion. If they are not forced into it first. The weather is going to be fairly nice but late availability Saturday shows 41 at Chatsworth, 56 at York R, 36 Baltic Wharf and 54 Clumber. All would normally be full. Strangely there is no drop off at Edinburgh, which is shown as full.🤔

Check the labels at your local supermarket fruit & veg section. 'Produce of Spain' gives a clue ... The A63 autoroute through France has HGV only parking throughout its length to cope with the tens of thousands of tons of the stuff that we have to import each week.

In the final analysis the action the club has taken should prevent them from receiving any financial compensation from the Government ( Aka the tax payer)> If they think they can maintain their income stream then they take the consequences.

What labels, there is nothing left. Meaning lots of us will do without which mans that we can do without. Maybe we are better off doing without as Spain is one of the country’s badly hit with the virus. So as I have said why is the truck allowed in our country.

The truck will be allowed all the time the country needs what Europe has to offer. At this present moment my brother is driving his HGV back from ITALY through France bringing goods for our Supermarkets .Am I worried for him? . Bloody right I am.

Hi
Across the road from our site they have been busy harvesting lettuce. That's two square miles of iceburgs, ALL destined for the UK. The veg. factory down the road ships over 600 tons of tomatoes a week to the UK.
Guess we need all that?

I scrumped a couple last night, can't beat a cheese sandwich with an inch deep layer of iceburg, loads of salt on top, lush

I'll agree with the brown bread JV. Always liked salt on lettuce, also on ripe tomatoes!
Just hope the shops are stocked enough when we get back to Cornwall, have to do two weeks isolation before we're allowed to work. The site manager has offered to get supplies for us.
What about cheese on toast with large splashes of lee & perrins?

Not much hope of doing shopping at the moment, JK. The vultures have stripped the shelves bare.

Adaptability is a good mindset to have at the moment. I love getting creative with food, so we are rather enjoying ourselves at the moment. I did put a Tesco delivery in for next week, but know that I am unlikely to get maybe half of what I ordered. But on the plus side, we have been doing random drop ins, and seeing what the vultures are leaving behind at smaller shops. Multi packs of tuna in spring water😁 took two, one for us, one for Mum and Sis. Had a lovely tuna tagliatelle tonight.....
I am still utterly baffled why the whole World seems to be obsessed with wiping its @rse though!🤔
