I came across this snippet from one of my Brits on the Costa Blanca and post it in case it may be of use to those who use local bottles:-

"On my room heater, the pilot flame lit on second attempt, waited the usual time and released the ignition button ,the pilot went out, tried it six times and Still no go, found a posting on the web said disconnect hose from regulator, take bottle outside and open valve and purge gas for couple of seconds, also shake bottle and turn upside down, did this took back in house reconnected hose and the heater lit fine, apparently you get contaminants in the gas that need purging, worked a treat."

That's interesting. Last year at Vila Joyosa (going again end February) my first Spanish gas bottle worked fine. Fridge and Alde heating system all ran on it no problem. Changed bottle after 2 weeks, but fridge would not restart on gas although Alde system did fire up. Had to use electric for final week in fridge, which cost a fortune on the site's rip off metered electric charges.

If it happens again this year I'll try this fix.

    Thanks Cyberyacht
