2020 Swiss Motorway Vignette

I started to order my 2020 motorway vignette from the Swiss Travel Centre this evening but noticed at the end of the online ordering process that the booking fee has escalated from £3.50 in 2019 to £20 in 2020. A sizeable increase!

Thankfully Tolltickets offer a 2020 Swiss Vignette for a total supplement of 7.50 Euros delivered.

I know I could wait and buy one at the Swiss border but given there’s normally a longish queue at the border its so much easier to buy upfront and drive through.

Depends where you are crossing. We have crossed at Basel dozens of times over the years and never experienced any delay, although you need to approach on the outside lane and not queue with the lorries on the inside lane. If you want to pay by credit card and not Euros or Swiss Francs then you just park up and go to the payment point. There are rest facilities.

Many of these online applications for Visas, Licences, Permits etc suffer from scam websites that come up offering the service at an inflated price. Is there an official site for applying for the Vignette from?

Why wait until you get to the border? The Swiss vignette is also sold at no extra cost at most service areas and larger petrol stations as you approach the border.

Olden; I’ve used Tolltickets for motorway vignettes for many years now. I also have a telepass box for Italian motorways from them. The service has always been excellent. They may not be the cheapest but I’ve found them to be reliable. Despite what others have said we’ve seen long queues at border crossings waiting to buy vignettes and whilst it is possible to buy them before the border crossings its so much more convenient to have one already.

Never had a delay at the border for a vignette but have been stopped by customs/immigration two years ago which is not usual asked a few questions then directed to bay to purchased vignettes.

My vignette supplier was Swiss Travel Centre last year, so I went through Tolltickets as you suggested.  Saved me a few bob or a queue at the border.  Thanks chaps!
