Hi,

I have a 2000 coachman Amara and the securing clips were busy, I got new clips but they do not fit tightly and the pump shoots off under pressure.

My question is can you purchase a new complete upgraded housing that will fit the newer pump fittings and us it straight forward to fit.

Thanks

Suggest you contact whale pumps as they do all sorts of convertors. Very good customer service.

The answer is - yes, you can. I had a problem with our water pump on our last van - a 2015 Barcelona and rather than messing about changing this and that, I changed the whole housing with the pressure switch on the back.

Although you don't say which pump/housing you have, there are 4 screws holding the Whale unit in place and it was mounted on a soft mastic gasket.  Remove it carefully and the gasket will go back undamaged. From memory, I think it was about £40 and took less than five minutes to change it over.

While you're at it - if you haven't already got one - I would get a Whale High Flow pump - the difference between that in terms of water volume and pressure as compared with the standard one is significant.

Thanks went to my local caravan showroom  and parts department. Had a word with them and they pointed me in the right direction. The crazy part was if the housing was in a box it was £30.00 and if it was just in a clear plastic bag it was £20.00 but both were exactly the same. Took it home and fitting was surprisingly easy although a bit of footer to get your fingers in to release the push fit connection.

Sorry - forgot to mention that push-fit connection.  Took a bit of working out but once you have, it's easy! (as you've found out)kiss
