Hi All,

Like many I guess I am trying to reduce the amount of plastic cards in my walllet.   Is there anyway to add the Club Membership to Apple wallet on my phone so I dont have to carry the physical card around with me?

Many Thanks

I use Stocard, and I add my CAMC card (and C&CC card) to that.  However, I haven't tested it by showing in on arrival at site as it is in the bag of Caravan stuff I take with me.

However, more and more companies are bringing out their own apps e.g. Nectar, Tesco, Pets-at-Home, Boots, where it is possible to use the app to collect points rather than the card.

Not being an Apple user, I'm only guessing that Apple wallet is a little like Stocard.  If however, Apple wallet is like Android Pay, then it is unlikely that you can add the CAMC card.  Android pay is just to use your phone to pay for items i.e. it links directly to your bank account(s)/ credit cards.

The annoying thing is that some shops do not have technology to read cards that you have copied into appsike Stocard.  Our local Co-OP comes into this category, so I always carry my Co-Op card.

An electronic version of the club's card would be good?

Thanks for the great suggestion. I have forwarded this to our Digital team who are going to look into this further.

As the cards are distributed yearly and made of plastic couldn't the club please produce them of cardboard or some other easily biodegradable material?

David,  Most sites are only interested in seeing the card and copying the number, there is no infrastructure at sites required to read cards.  Apple wallet lets you store any compatible cards in its wallet, not just credit cards.  For example my tesco club card is held within it as are many airline boarding cards.    All that is required is an app which will store a digital version of the card on the phone, with the facility to push it to the wallet.    My tesco card is also location aware so when I visit a tesco store it’s always at the front.  Be cool if the club card could be stored electronically and pushed to wallet, be even cooler if it recognised you were at a club site and brought it to the front like my tesco card!

That does of course mean enabling location data, even when not using the App. Not ever so keen on that, it only takes seconds to activate the App or find the card in the wallet. I think I prefer to be uncool.😂
