Crit'Air stickers

We've made a last minute decision to cross to France for a surprise birthday celebration, leaving next Sunday (15 August.)

I was under the misapprehension that Crit'Air stickers were only needed for driving in big cities but now understand that they may also be required in emergency low emission zones (ZPAs). As our planned route passes through two of these, Chartres/Eure et Loir and Chartres/Loiret there is potential for trouble if the pollution regulations have been invoked. 

A simple solution would be to change our route (more expensive but cheaper than a fine) but the official website also suggests that it would be ok if we had applied for and paid  for the vignette.  It is a bit vague, but am wondering if anyone has any knowledge/experience of this? 

I'll also give the club a call tomorrow

    Please don't worry. On that route you will not be troubled.

    But it's only a matter of minutes and a few euros to get a sticker so why not just do that? I understand that if you have the receipt with you you don't need to have received the sticker.

    Mind you, reading the date of your expected travel, I expect you're back home already! But I think you meant September.

    When you apply, once you have paid, there is a facility to print up a paper copy of the sticker that will be sent to you, you can then display this meantime.

    Many thanks for those prompt and informative replies, especially confirming that I can print off a copy. That was what I thought was the case but the website was not very explicit. 

    Yes, I had got the month wrong - we're leaving next Sunday!

    Guess what, I’ve driven through some of those areas and didn’t even think about it just like I’ve notice I’ve no GB sticker on the van.  Hopefully no one will notice on the 15 minute drive to the ferry

    You'll be OK until 31/10 at least and probably a whole lot longer.

    Even after 31 Oct I think a country of origin sticker will still be a requirement surprised
