Have CAMC over priced some sites

I agree totally with all you have said ray, and I suspect it’s already happening in some places. There are fewer Club Sites open in the Winter month’s now, closing in November rather than after Christmas. Seems like the top price charged in Summer isn’t enough to keep them open at less busy times. 😟

and this exactly reiterates a point I made much earlier, the top price charged in summer is keeping the revenues at worst the same at best increasing, and by reducing maintenance costs e.g. closing sites in Nov rather than after Christmas further cost savings are made, and why would any business want to keep open a facility that is maybe only 50 pct occupied and still have to pay all the costs associated with that facility which could mean the facility running at a loss. It is good business management.

I do not think the loss leader prices can be classed as an "introductory offer" ,I would think more a desperate attempt to get some form of income to mitigate the losses they incure ,when the school holiday times are not getting the very high charges that families incure
That the club have got covered all year with far cheaper site charges

I think that there are more open longer than in the past until Jan now
Even the non faciltie Bourton site is open until after the October half term now where as it used to close early October
And after Morn Hill is upgraded (this winter?)that is also to be an open all year site

I have not read all this thread but we are taking a couple of the grand kids away next weekend before they go back to school/nursery. So I thought I would compare C&MC, Haven and Parkdean.
C&MC Seacroft comes out at £84.80 for 2 nights
Haven comes out at £84 for 2 nights
Parkdean is between £36 & £54 (looked today and now down to £40) depending on site so we chose the £36 at Walton on Naze.
So in this case C&MC on par with Haven but obviously Parkdean are looking to fill some space at the resort we chose with indoor pool, kids play areas etc. Versus C&MC with outdoor pool and small play park.
I do note that C&MC charge extra for each person so kids bump price up whereas Haven & Parkdean have an inclusive price for up to 6 people so for families there is a difference there and I think overall for what they offer C&MC are highly priced but we are away this weekend staying at a CL Saturday £9 (no EHU), C&MC Kessingland £26.90 on Sunday and a CL on Monday £12 with EHU so for a BH the £26.90 is reasonable I think.

Whatever the comparisons between 'here' and 'there', the bottom line is that a significant minority, at least on this forum, are no longer prepared to pay the sort of prices that CAMC are levying.

Just finished setting up on site. When we arrived I was in the small car while Mrs c towing behind.
The head warden was standing at the main entrance (he did ask if I had lost my caravan), the reason being to ask if people had a booking. Apparently quite a few are turning up without one and site being full are being turned away
I suppose the site isn't priced that high?

Correct ET. We only use Club Sites if going to an event close by (Rose Theatre in York), or as part of a tour for a night or so, and then primarily Racecourse or no facility sites. And occasionally for a longer stay in Winter.
That means that the Club is meeting our needs less and less each year regarding Club Sites, as the prices don’t give us the value in comparison to our likes and dislikes, they are closing/losing the no facility sites, and reducing the opening periods on others. I wouldn’t argue about the business operating model, we don’t represent the Club’s target market in many ways.
🤔Something that has crossed my mind, Club keeps town/city sites open longer/all year, Durham, YRP, Bristol, Bourton, Middlesbrough, Bridlington, possibly others.......a plus for MH owners🤫

It’s good to know. If they aren’t full on a hot bank holiday, they are never going to be!

I do find that the CC main sites are a bit pricy and so do not use them.
I tend to use the smaller CL sites that charge the same rate throughout the year.
Out of the school holidays during term time, I often use big commercial sites like Haven or Park Dean etc Try these online for deal breaks. A fraction of the CC price with far more in the way of facilities.

Fair enough, but my point was really, if you like CLs, presumably because they're quieter/ more relaxed/ cheaper than club sites, why use Haven etc at all? Just interested in what attracts folk to them when there are so many good alternatives.

More facilities? Or do you mean holiday camp facilities but I do agree if that's the sort of sites that float your boat they can be cheaper than the more popular club sites but not a "fraction" of club prices but then what part of the fraction
