as mentioned earlier, a well trodden path by many on here...

ok, perhaps not a true demographic/summary on CT but it does give a good indication that the club's current core members (older, fixed incomes) are finding it more and more difficult to cough up for club sites.

OTOH, it may be that the club's intention to attact more families is being acheived at a stroke.....the older folk are being priced out and the younger families (with two large incomes we are constantly reminded) are the only ones willing and able to pay £25-£45 for their family nights on site.

the demographic might be shifting quicker than some thought.

My son in law calls Club sites the land of the living dead.

He is in luck then as he does not have to use CC sites and the price of CC pitches will not trouble him..

No it most certainly statistically does not, how many posters like you describe post on CT like that about prices? I think 20 individual posters would be too high? Out of how many hundred of thousands members that go to sites every year? yet you make this leap and extrapolate to all the clubs' core members?

All you can say is that some posters on CT find that, yes it is often complained about but CT is a very biased sample and certainly not representative of real life and you cannot extrapolate like that. I know you didn't like JK's answer but complaints about club prices are very low in real life.

And even if it were true, the club sadly is not a charity, and anyway according to Mikey the club's core members are  exceeding well off.

but perhaps they understand value better...undecided

we're currently getting 10 nights for the price of 3 typical club nights and are a short stroll from a south coastal town, not a CL but only 8 vans in this sports ground larger than a rugby pitch, so very quiet, more vans next door...

we have everything we need including entertainment (a surprise when we got here) from live bands to curry nights in a large marquee.

much nicer than the sterile club sites where the toilets are deemed the highlight...frown

a clue below, for the highbrowswink

Well if you checked before posting EuroT the swimming pool there is actually heated, and if it's heated to the same temperature as at Seacroft, which was 30C I can tell you personally that is very heated indeed, like getting into a warm bath I would say. There were quite a few in it even when it was 16C and it was lovely.

Oh and yes they have adult swims times too.

who understands value better? the biased ample or real people on site?

Again, with respect I cannot understand this tendency to post that people are getting value, paying cheaper prices, and better facilities and are much nicer, why do you feel the need to do that? A sort of boasting?

I'm happy with club sites, so are these posts perhaps a part of not knowing better? or club sites are only full because people don't know there are better sites out there? Is is so impossible to accept that people may actually prefer club sites?

I'm glad you find that site better, I respect that, but of course it is only IMHO, not fact.

Regarding Looe, it seems to have over 90% occupancy this coming weekend, pretty good I'd say compared to many other Cornish sites (at least in the area we know)! So maybe, to use a time honoured phrase, folk are "voting with their wheels". smile

It's a shame when the standard of a club site is based on the cleanliness of the loo and how the toilet paper is folded wink

P.S, note to Corners ,I know the toilet paper is not folded ,I was just being flippant  cool

I think it's a very small minority (of less than 2) who keep saying the best thing about club sites is the toilets , HD! laughinglaughing

I do find it better (value), that's a fact....

im so glad you prefer CC sites (not at all obvious from your postingssmile and I respect that, too) and are happy to pay their prices...I suppose someone has to...

there certainly aren't many on CT who sing the praises of the level of club site prices, are there?

...although the toilets are regularly mentioned in dispatcheswink

I see they've renamed the airport since we were here a couple of years ago, to give it a little more 'cachet' perhaps?undecided

we thought we might catch the airshow but I think since the accident it isn't in the diary?

Good for you BB as long as you are happy. Not too sure what that has to do with UK sites or CC sites as they are different animals from what you say.

corners, obviously a poor attempt at levity....debating club site prices with such a strong advocate of the brand is a bit 'heavy' so I tried to lighten the mood....

please accept my heartfelt apologiessmile...though I won't try again.

I think there are many who find alternative sites of a similar standard (nearly) no cheaper

The problem I find with Club Site price inflation is that they are dragging CL prices in the same direction.

    >£25/night for a Club Site is my limit for 2.

If the club wants more revenue, then charging for dogs is the way to go. Feel free to discuss I've put my crash helmet on!!!

but wouldn't that put off certain people and lead to loss of income? You lose £25+ per pitch for what? £1 per dog?

Anyway as you brought it up what would you charge?

I’m not sure that club site prices are 'dragging' CL prices with them. Inflation is a fact of life and the cost of everything increases year on year.

I refuse to fall for the obvious bait.

To those who take every oportunity to take a pot at cc sites can they please answer the following questions?

1 Can the  "cheaper"?sites you use guarantee they all have a full facilities Radar key operated disabled facilities

2 Can this also be guaranteed if we again decide to go over/under the channel or any of the other sea routes

My OH is now in need of this on all sites we now visit,as although she can with help at times  use the on board facilities, she tries to be independent which on a cc site is guaranteed
