Tinny I dont genuinely understand your frustration.

You did post this:-........A perfect example of the review section being used inappropriately and another instance where the 'reviewer' has not understood the club's policy.

Your implying they should not review, full stop.

Your implying because they "not understood the clubs policy" a warden can speak to them with a choice of words, manner that left the member feeling angry and worse! Becaude that is what the reviewer was saying, and you dont want to tackle that, you rather remove them. As in delete the review. How does that help your fellow member?

That's worthy of a review in my opinion, and as Bill says, and I earlier, its upto the wider membership to read and decide if the review is of any value or merit.

As I say, limited options to reply, 3 say, you can post your usual stuff against any negative reviews, Corners can do +1, and JVB can tell us that coincidentally he has an 8 year old cousin twice removed thats an astronaut!

Brit, I genuinely don’t understand why you assume the warden has been in the wrong almost every time and why you cannot accept that all members should abide by the guidelines. I’ll repeat what I said early on in this thread -

"Thanks, Brit. All I seek to do here is to obtain clarification regarding comments, not the review itself as that has already been given. I’m not intending this to be a debate of the rights and wrongs of the Guidelines. 👍🏻"

It is for the club to set those guidelines and for we members who have agreed to accept them to stick to them. If we disagree with the GLs we should either seek to change them through the correct channels or not be in this club. The option of simply ignoring them is not on the table.

I'm not interested per say whether the warden is right or wrong, I'm interested in the right for a member to air their views, appropriate language.

The rules or guidelines are in my opinion not stopping people complaining about wardens in a site review. That's why we are at different sides of the debate.

There has to be rules about how a member complains, agreed, but not a ban.

The example Corners chose highlighted "touring" non prebooking a thing held dear by some, on this site, at this time, didnt work.

    No to emptying toilet, petty.

And again, manner, attitude, putting rules across without hurt.

Worthy things for a site review

The warden knows & the complainant/reviewer knows-the rest is conjecture & gum beating👍🏻🤷🏻‍♂️

I disagree. I have no desire to see CC sites used as a service centre. On a facility site we probably pay £8 a day to use site facilities and see no reason why those not using the site should have access.

We are talking within the chosen example.

A one off after being denied access is not a new procedure.

Discretion used could have eased tensions  rather than inflame!

I'm beginning to think I've missed my vocation.

no it's the rules, as TW said get them changed or abide by them, or is that perhaps how you see rules you don't agree with - petty

And again, manner, attitude, putting rules across without hurt

And with that you have proved TW's statements that you believe the wardens are in the wrong every time and certainly in this case.

    And as for:

The example Corners chose highlighted "touring" non prebooking a thing held dear by some, on this site, at this time, didnt work.

Really I have no idea what you are on about. Did I mention the word in quotation marks?

All we know is one side of a story, probably/maybe affected by these people not getting their own way, it could all be unfounded malicious lies, and the point you cannot grasp is that the club has a duty of care to its wardens to protect them from such things.

It could also offend and hurt both the wardens concerned, but as you have made jokes about if they are then they are in the wrong job (page 5) it may appear that does not enter your thinking?

Of course if they are true then that is unacceptable and a complaint is the only way to ensure the wardens are held to account. Quite simple as TW as said, follow the rules that you (one) has signed up to, don't just follow the ones you think are right and ignore the others.

I think that says it all to you.

That does seem somewhat akin to suggesting that when one wants, for instance, a metre length of pipe being told it only comes in 100 metre lengths and you must buy all of it.

More akin to going into a residents lounge in a hotel to buy a drink and being told 'It's a residents bar and, as you are not a resident we won't serve you'

But the vast majority of 'shoppers' at that shop want to and are happy to buy it at 100m lengths. The price and length sold are written for everyone to see.

Therefore then if you don't want to buy it at that length you would go somewhere else that sells it by the meter in the first place wouldn't you? Rather than expect that shop to change its very successful practice just for you?

You are not forced, or must buy all of it, at all.

I've told 7 people today that we don't stock 25 metre hoses 'cos nobody wants them laughing

or asking if you can have a quarter of a pint? or half a bottle of beer? Half a packet of crisps, three peanuts out of a bag.

No you must buy the half pint, full bottle, full packets, that's way they are sold - it's a hard world out there.

When I was working there were a few chip shops that I would call in for a fish and a dozen free chips. Didn't want a full chip portion

The "@" that the poster used in that cross examination also can confirm what I'm saying about instant venting! As in, he is a Twitter user.

The @ is used on many forums

Yep - just noticed one where the welcome was so unfriendly it resulted in "in caravan rows "! undecided

(Makes a difference from complaining about  "caravans in rows" I suppose! wink)

Someone stayed at a club site for 11 days despite unruly children and not very helpful wardens who incidentally laid on activities for children.  They also had wardens cutting grass at 3.30pm when they wanted to relax.

Personally if I didn’t like a site I would have left after a couple nights even if it meant losing a nights fee

I have to say, having just come back from a club site on Tuesday, members do seem to be pushing things a bit just lately. I saw at least two cars drive the wrong way along one way tracks, one quite fast. 2 different pitch occupants  allowing dogs to roam free, lots of cars & M/H's travelling too fast. Cars parked on the grass fingers between pitches, over night & day visitors cars on pitches.

Just observations and none of it impacted on my stay. It's just a shame that a small number of individuals actions impact on the majority frown

And yet you feel it necessary to read and comment on a thread about them?  undecided

thank goodness I don't read them or leave them....

You are missing out BB. Some are very amusing. Occasionally on site I will look at the comments book as well. One comment amused me saying how poor the wardens were as the shop was not open for the writer to buy icecream and that the wardens were a disgrace therefore.

The wardens had not opened the shop on time as it was all hands to the decks to sort out a flooded toilet block.
