Starting this year Spanish Motorway Tolls will slowly be abolished.Always in both directions.

AP 1    Burgos to Arminon  as from now 2019.

AP 4    Sevilla to Cadiz  from December 2019.

AP 7    Tarragona to Alicante from December 2019.

AP 7    Alicante to La Jonquera    2021

AP 7    Montmelo to El Papiol       2021

AP 2    Zaragoza to Mediterrano  2021

This is due to the Spanish Government not renewing the Licences to the companys who run the Motorways at the moment.

We noticed some AP roads free when we travelled through Spain in January.

The worst motorways  in Spain are being frantically re-surfaced as the companies have to give them back how they found them, can you imagine the UK government putting in a release clause  like that. We have been told this could all happen by the end of 2020 if talks go well which will mean the AP7 will be free all the way to the costas,

The only down side of this is that the perceived security of the toll motorways and the service areas on the toll motorways will disappear and the miscreants who haunt the A7 will now be able to haunt the AP7.
