Draining the pink flushing tank on a Lunar
I need to drain the tank but cannot find an outlet. There is a tube coming out of the bottom of the cassette cavity but this does not have a tap or plug on it. My caravan is a Lunar Conquest 462 - 2013 based on the Quasar. I understand I could keep flushing the toilet to empty it, but want a way to remove any 'sediment' in the bottom of the tank. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

I have not drained my flush tank using the rubber tube for many years as I do not use additives I just use the pump. However, the method does not so much depend on caravan model as on the actual toilet model. I would reach up under the top of the toilet compartment and locate a narrow bore rubber/plastic tube which was found by feel rather than sight. This had a rubber bung in the end to remove and drain.

On our two caravans Abbey and a Bailey, the tube was hooked up out the way at the top front of the cassette cavity, not ever so easy to see. They had a rubber bung in the end. Both were a pain, as not long enough to dangle outside the compartment, so a container was needed.

I think the toilet makers would serve their customers better if the warning light gave an indication of an impending supply tank being empty, rather than the holding tank being full. There is another way to visually check that!
Should I be expecting to move within 24 hours of the supply tank going empty, I simply don't fill it to full.

The toilet is a standard model and ours have always had a plug in the end of the pipe. Without that or a valve I cannot see how it holds the water in.
On one model you had to be careful as it would discharge over the battery, so check that before you try it.

I thought it was. According to the instruction book, the only way to empty the header tank is by continually flushing it. There is no drain fitted. Another (albeit minor) reason why I had ours replaced with a Thetford.
