...you've obviously never been in a Glasgow tenement.  We have to queue to use the one bath and that’s AFTER the dugs been in.

I would happily re use grey water to wash in. Drinking it is verging on silliness.

I wondered why when last time we were in the Glasgow area it looked and smelt much cleaner then noticed the Tenements had been cleared awaywink

Blimey SC, just pour the greywater where the site owner wants it to go, and keep the pitch clean for others. It's very simple.

The latest ccc mag has an article on green field  camping and the bit about  grey waste water advises to dispose of it where the site operators or stewards make clear, and please avoid discharging grey waste on your pitch!!!!

I n the 70s drought please empty in hedgerows , unless you are using posey cleaning stuff full of chemicals ,whats the difference ? Dog mess all over sites ,ok  picked up ,but due to bad diets due to lazy owners the stools are soft leaving mess on grass ,, How are they gonna pick it up when were not using plastic bags ?

Grey water is grey because of the millions of suspended bits of solid matter in the water. Water drained onto a pitch will soon saturate the soil and won't drain away very quickly and leave all the solid bits on or near the surface. On a warm day this would start to smell delightful and the flies would have a field day.

IF you are washing up in the van and your waste has food and fat particles, IF you are on a neat manicured Club site with no hedges and minimal spacing between pitches then discharging the waste onto your pitch would be antisocial (plus somebody may see you!).

On the other hand, IF your waste is just soapy water, IF you have a generous pitch with hedges and trees (unlikely in the UK except at CLs) then do what campers do and throw the waste water into the nearest hedge.

I notice when abroad that the Dutch usually have a small bucket under their waste pipes. I don’t recall ever seeing one emptied at a disposal point, actually at many continental sites there aren’t really any convenient disposal points.

SC is a she! Thought that might have been obvious by the earlier shoes comment.  Interesting, that you assume anyone who comes onto discussions must be male.

And SC has to like her own posts, because no one else will.

At least SC doesn't go around checking who likes who's posts....that is IMO even more sad.

ScottishCaravaner - Grey Water directly onto pitch - Not something I would like to see happening on any pitch whatever the surface.  If, however an owner or site manger allows one to dispose of grey water near hedgerows/trees etc that is their option.  As far as not carrying a waste container having an effect on fuel consumption – I wouldn’t know but would guess it was so minimal as to be of little or no consequence.

I've had a fab day thanks. Bought another 4.5kg worth of shoes, sunbathed...got rid of some body fats by deep breathing exercise...had a go at a warden....left my dog's poo for at least five minutes before bagging and incurred some excellent dirty looks...such fun!

I don't think we have met before.  Please refresh my memory?

Being completely off grid and using sites that are generally grass, I built a small unit comprising of a Really Useful box, a bulge pump and a 5mt length of convoluted hose. with an extra 2mts ‘just in case’ The waste water drops into the box, when it reaches a certain depth, the float on the bilge pump operates the switch and pumps the water away very effectively and efficiently into a nearby ditch it overgrown area. I let the bacteria worry about breaking down any problems! I never allow it to discharge on to a pitch. If I can’t get my hose to a ditch or an overgrown area I will collect it in the wastemaster and wheel it to a ditch or hedge. By using the bilge pump set up I release myself from a chore and I much prefer to use it.

no, like me (and the last three vans I've had) most people I see on site carry their wastemaster (and aquaroll) in the front locker.

The only people who don't are those that don't have a front locker like  some Bailey owners.

Is the discharge to be limited to the summer months,☀️or will we see frozen pools of waste water on the pitches.❄️ Kids could always use them for ice skating.😂⛸

OP is definitely a wind up.

I carry two Wastemasters in the front locker, as well as gas bottles.  As the Aquarolls are supposedly clean they travel in the caravan, each in its own natty Aldi bag.
