Motor mover bolts coming loose
partway through a 6 week trip to Spain, the Powrtouch Auto mover failed to engage on one side. After some searching I found that on each side of the mover, there is an inner and outer anchor bolt which threads into the plate behind. Of these 4 bolts, two were loose and one had clearly fell out. I was able to buy a replacement bolt from a local Spanish ironmonger and hacksaw the length down to size. So situation was resolved.
I understand that only greasing is carried at the annual service (back in February) so no reason for bolts to have been touched then. The mover was fitted new to new van in Feb 2017.
I for one will now be checking these bolts very so often, but wondered if anyone else has had this problem.

I was under the van the other day checking the Powertouch and painting the exposed parts with anti rust paint and protecting all exposed threads with copper slip grease (as the last mover was unbelievably rusty after 5 years.) Everything looked spot on and everything was tight and solid. I agree with Phishing- they should not come loose and there is obviously a reason why they did but how the hell do you prove it??
