We are travelling from Guines to Zeebrugge to catch Ferry home, and have several hours to spare. Is there somewhere to park caravan and car safely, that will allow us to visit Brugge

    I’d give Camping Memling a ring, the staff are very friendly and maybe they’d let you stay for a few hours during the day. It’s a 30 minute walk into the centre. Veltemweg 109, 8310 Brugge

    Just along from Memling is a spot that might suit. 51.207242,  3.256678  which I got from park4night.com.

    Be careful when travelling to the docks to catch the ferry.  There is s a new road with very poor signage and before you know it you’re nearly in Antwerp.   

    Having chatted to other vanners on board it seems a common mistake as some car sat navs haven’t updated.  However there is an update on the P&O website http://www.poferries.com/en/zeebrugge-hull/travelling-with-us/directions-to-port.

    If you go wrong you may end up in a small town with lots of narrow streets with chicanes and speed humps.   Not an experience I want to repeat.

    I missed a turn once when towing from Zeebrugge. Ended up going round a housing estate in Knokke-Heist. That was in the days before sat-navs.
