Spotted this in a news letter, it maybe of interest to those wanting to use smaller sites like the CLs in the UK.

More and more people are offering campers space to camp on their land and the practice is becoming increasingly popular especially in the Netherlands and France. But the idea is also catching on in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. One can book an overnight camping stay under Homecamper.com “Welcome to our gardens“.

Peedee, another source of such informal sites is Gamping.com - not to be confused with Glamping.

Just a thought, are there any insurance implications?

Club members often ask whether there are sites like CLs in France, and are told No there are hardly any. Actually if you hunt them down there are quite lot. Here's a photo of one we found - Camping Le Pesquie near St Remy de Provence , but the link Peedee has given is brilliant at identifying so many more in so many places. Thank you.

The Motor Caravanners Club operate a similar system called "Safe Kights" for its members. Members with land available allow MCC members to camp on their land. No idea how widespread it is as I am not a member.
